A few days ago, I was surfing the web as I usually do most of the day, when I came upon a site that linked a bunch of TV series shows that could be viewed much like YouTube had for the SouthPark and FamilyGuy episodes. Perusing the show list, I was intrigued to find a page dedicated to "FireFly", which I know has been discussed here before and many had rave reviews. I decided to watch all the episodes with my wife. I'm glad I did, it was rather enjoyable. It reminded me a bit of my days as a lad watching Buck Rogers.

Here is the link, I thought I'd pass on the good fortune.

PS. I definately suggest watching the movie at the end, it brings a lot more depth to the setting.

Firefly was awesome - I have the series on DVD and saw the film, Serenity, at the theater. I haven't picked up the DVD of the movie yet - thanks for the reminder! Adam Baldwin is awesome as Jane. Nathan Fillion is a really great guy. He really appreciates his fans. I put his Capt. Mal Reynolds right up there with Capt. James T. Kirk in my heroes' pantheon.

He so dreamy! Smiley: inlove

Don't judge me! Smiley: motz

Love Firefly. I really hope they end up making another season (or more). For those of you who are Firefly fans and MMORPG players check this out.

I'd like to know why the captian always looks the same in future meets history sci-fi. Compare the pics below as proof.

Unless FOX has a heart and gives up rights to the series, it's not gonna happen, most likely. Whedon refuses to work with FOX after this, and FOX can sit on the rights to the series for many years.

Which sucks, because I too would like more Firefly.

And more cowbell, but that goes w/o saying.

Yeah I heard about that - if it turns out any good, it may motivate me to play a sci-fi mmorpg. I'd probably rather play a Warhammer 40,000k or even a StarCraft mmorpg if they ever put one out. SWG had potential but never grabbed me. Then they screwed the pooch on killing some of their classes. Star Trek Online may be interesting depending the race/class combos - I haven't really done any research on it yet to know one way or the other.

QFT. If Whedon isn't a part of it, I wouldn't watch/play anything to do with Firefly.

Doh! Sue me, I was in throes of a satisfying nerdgasm so I forgot the correct spelling.

The episode where Jayne was a folk-hero is one of the best.

One day, home sick from work, I started watching that (I got the link from another messageboard). I watched the entire series back to back for three days straight. I didn't play FFXI that weekend. lol

Whedon cracks me up. Both with Buffy and Firefly, I love his dialogue. "I can kill you with my brain."

Definitely one of my most recommended TV series.

My fav was the one where Early snuck onto the ship, and as he's running around with Simon.

And of course later,

I was hooked on the show when Mal kicked that dude into the ship's turbojets...or whatever they're called.

Scott Kurtz (PvP comics) created this awesome t-shirt about Joss Whedon.

I digress, the episode with the lesbian kissing between the companion and the dignitary lady was best. That was loads of hawtness.

I had previously watched the first show, but then my son got the whole collection on DvD for Christmas. I'm working my way through them. I wasn't too crazy about the last one I watched, an explosion on Serenity due to a malfuntion, all having to evacuate on the shuttles (cept the capt) and lots of back-storying. I've liked all the others though.

I have 6 days to finish watching them before they go off to live in a dorm room far far away. Will Netflix have the movie?

Probably. Or you could just watch the movie on your PC using the link provided above. That's what I did.

I loved the series, it was brilliant. The movie really pissed me off though, but I won't spoil it for anyone. Just take my word for it and enjoy the entire series before you watch the movie.

Picked up Serenity on DVD today ($14.99 at Best Buy, whoo hoo!) - after my wife gets around to first watching the series on DVD, we'll watch the movie again. I hope they make another movie at some point...or does Fox hold the rights to the franchise overall, not just tv?

loved the series. the movie was good too. its a hell of alot better than yet another version of CSI or reality spinn off, i dont understand why it wasnt picked up, or why they dont sell the rights to the sci-fi channel. the characters were awsome, and very origonal, well, cept for the space hooker, thats been done before.

mmorpg based on a gang of crimminals running around robbing people? wouldnt invest alot of money in that one. mabe an offline game, like grand theft auto.....

Afaik, Fox only has the TV rights. That's why Whedon was able to get the movie made.
