Why rush an incomplete VG out just in time to compete against WoW:Burning Crusade?
--------------------------------------------------
its a ticking time bomb, thats why.
think about it. they started Vanguard 4 years ago, based on what was then the latest and greatest video engine and game mechanics. they built it on a playstyle that was the proven leader AT THE TIME.........BOOM.......
if they dont launch it SOON, the entire concept may be outdated and left behind before it ever reaches market. kind of like someone perfecting DOOM 1 and waiting untill after Quake lanched before they released it.
if they dont launch it this year, EARLY this year, how much of the market do you think they will capture after Warhammer, and the new greek god one from E3, and yet another EQ2 and WoW launch?
they needed to realistically, from a marketing standpoint, to launch it BEFORE WoW launched. they are already way behind the power curve.
its no longer about releasing it when its ready, its about releasing it NOW or NEVER. either they get it to market SOON, or they swollow the millions of dollars in development, skip it alltogether, and move on to something that isnt already soooo 4 years ago.
its do or die. right now. times up.

Brad has pretty much admitted that they ran out of money.
----------------------------------------------------------------
or more to the point, ran out of all the money he or any of his sponsers was willing to invest in a game that is no longer the proven leader playstyle wise. if it was a for sure winner, sponsers would be linning up at the door tossing money at them. it might have been a sure winner 4 years ago, but it is last generation game play now.
