I love my kid, but I'm so not up for the staying home with her all day, every day thing. This is the one week of the year that the daycare is closed, and man, I'm going to hug them on Tuesday when they reopen...

...or the ex is rather, I had her last weekend, he gets her this weekend, muahahahaha.

To you ladies and gents that stay home with your kids: you must either have the patience of a thousand saints or you beat them senseless and hide the bruises.

As my doctor once told me when I talked about my kids' age:

"I'd rather go to work than stay home and watch the kids."

Hubby is home with them today. Tomorrow is my day. >.<

Thank you. I tend to just drug myself to just the edge of consciousness. I will be practically humping their teachers' legs on the first day back to school after break, in appreciation. And then the retarded thing is, I will miss them while they are at school. Smiley: oyvey

I probably would, up until my youngest starts full days next year. And then, it would only be something part-time.

I wouldn't let myself get pregnant that many times, let alone take care of that many!

Man, I can't believe she does that AND puts up with you. She must just hate being happy I guess. ;P

Fine. I'll pretend this post isn't nexta yours, either. :P

Don't worry, it's not you, it's me. I tend to have that effect. Boo! But only when I'm doing my duty as Mr. America Designated Poster. Call it herding instinct. Call it inter-forum intrigue. Just remember, I called it.

I love staying home with Mia. We have our bad days - and those days we watch a lot of TV - but on the whole we have fun together and I recognize that the time we have together now is short-lived and time I can never get back once she's a little older. Sure, there are days I wish I could get up and just go to a job; no fuss, no mess.

I'm not sure how things will be with 2 kids. I predict a good deal more impatience and a good deal less sleep. Smiley: wink2

I quite honestly can't imagine not being a stay at home mom.. They drive me nuts at times, but every other moment is worth it...Or maybe I do have a butt load of patience.... Though I highly doubt it since I'm typically going off on other people.

I am looking forward to being a stay at home "Mr. Mom." I'd rather watch my own child and help teach him/her all about life then make my shiat company another million dollars they don't deserve.

Well maybe if you were a good boy we'd give you some candy canes instead of those home pregnancy tests we've been stuffing your stocking with. But until that time, I'd recommend being a go-getter provider until at least 6 months after birth, nine and six months and two weeks after saying "hi" to a girl. But I understand, my grandmother liked to clean house all the time too.

I think that if I had another mom as a next door neighbor and we were great friends or something and could hang out together with the kids...maybe then. I just need to be able to converse with someone over the age of 2 to get me by, haha.

****************** Being a stay at home mom isn't anything exceptionally praiseworthy. It's what women are made for, it's in their blood. Managing a household and the children contained therein has traditionally been a woman's duty across many cultures, 'races', and religions. Yep, it's hard as hell, but so is chasing down animals and beating them with sticks or busting your hump in a grease pit all day. Can't deal with your screaming kids or pissed because they won't listen? Own up and be a better parent.

The real people that deserve to be recognized are those women that hold down a career, raise their children proper, and still manage a household. Now those women are ******* amazing. I'd tip my hat to that lady anyday.

You aren't hitting her hard enough?

My little darlin' is three and can spell her own name, count to twenty, read simple words, and teach quantum mechanics to a monkey. Sadly she still can't handle "Get daddy a beer, sweetie". She has trouble with the twist-offs too.

=(
