Have you got ANYTHING to back this utterly false statement up or are you just throwing made up "facts" about?

No website i can find even comes close to 1 million let alone "millions" Even then the vast majority of death under his regime where in Wars (both external and Civil) and malnutrition due to crippling UN sanctions.

In that respect more people are being killed from both these causes now than they where under Saddam!!

About 300.000 Shiites are said to have been butchered after the first Gulf War, to stop the rebellion there. Mass graves are still discovered I believe.

In one attack, he got about 5000 Kurds killed by using nerve gas. No real number was stated when Saddam went after them after the first Gulf War to stop their rebellion. It is known that thousands died due to exhaustion and famine when they tried to run away from Saddam. Only after the world saw these images, was Saddam stopped. The Shiites had no such luck.

And as he started the war against Iran, I'ld say he was (in part) responsible for the deaths in that war. That one had about 900.000 casualties. (granted, including the wounded)

The sanctions against Iraq are said to have killed between 400.000 and 800.000 children. I blame Saddam for those, not the UN or the US. The malnutrition excuse is bull, Saddam let them die.

Granted, you could state that Saddam would not have started the war against Iran if the US hadn't fed him slightly faulty info. Nor would he had invaded Kuwait if the US had taken a stern stand against that in the first place. Nor would he have gassed his people if Germany and France hadn't sold him the materials. Nor would so many Iraqis have died rebelling after the first Gulf War if the US hadn't called them to rebel and then let them die afterwards.

Lots of ifs actually, and my original statement might have been exaggerated, but Saddam deserved to hang.

And the latest genocide is in the Congo, it's still happening I believe. It's the first big genocide of the new century. We'll learn all about that one, after it's done, that's usually the way things happen.

(edited to add: I'm definitely not talking about justifying the invasion, that should never have happened in the first place. But he did deserve to hang)

It almost plays out like a Greek tragedy. Achilles getting his revenge on Hector for the killing of Patroclus. Afterwards Achilles is left with the realization that revenge didn't fix the hurt.

The only way I can view it is that is just another sad event in a long string of sad events.
