No, hun. If you can't figure out the main difference between the Asylum and OOT posters, we can't help you. I've been ignoring this thread, hoping it would die off but it seems some of you think you could make it around here.
If you have to ask why someone is "mean" or "flames" you, you aren't Asylum material.
If you think Niwhorebia is cute or funny, you aren't asylum material.
If you think having umpteen posts about "whats playing on your IPOD right now" doesn't make you gay, you're not Asylum material.
If you willingly read any post started by Coddy, you're not Asylum material.
I could go on, but there are so many pitfalls of the OOT I'm afraid I'd crash the brand new servers if I mentioned them all.
But see, I don't really care if I'm "asylum material" or not. Maybe it's because I'm a professional women in my thirties living in a Northeastern City. I'm bred to be a snarky b*tch--I'm in the prime demographic. And I've seen bigger and badder (like you guys got nothing on fashion b*tches). I live on the mothership of b*tchery.
It's more like for me that Asylumites are...hamfisted in their flaming. They do ad hominem and then accuse OOTers of doing ad hominem. Stuff like that. Not even very sophisticated snarking.
Maybe it violates some asthetic sense for me that Asylumnites often portray themselves as having some intellectual superiority. Or they post stuff, like yours Katie, some awkward defense of the Asylum based on a bunch of unsophisticated, half-assed insults that are supposed to bother me. I guess that is why I post.
It's the same urge that comes when someone says, "Are you going to wear those shoes with that bag?"
That kind of stuff. It's not like I necessarily feel an inherent superiority to people in the Asylum as much as I am surprised about the relative lack of self-reflection that occurs here. To be honest, I think that it's weird--the whole OOT vs. Asylum thing and it has temporarily fascinated me, like a shiny object for a crow.
I guess it bugs me to see grown people do something as lame as your anti-Hellboy post. Or talk about junior high schools and popular girls, as you guys seem so excited to do so. That's not good snark. That's just the kind of snark that boys in the midwest think pass for humor.
