I'm assuming your thread title refers to Leonard Bernstein's operetta? Has some dark moments, but it's lyrically uplifting, and some of the cadences are sublime - even comparable to Mahler at his most heart-rending.

On the other hand, if you're just trolling, go fUck yourself in the botty-hole with razor-wire.

I thout he was talking about Voltaire's book. It's pretty cool, though slightly simplistic and philosophically unhelpful. It is both a critique of Leibniz, who said that "everything was the best it could be possibly be", through the examination of the horrors of the time, and a solution to those problem, through "cultivating your garden", which is the answer to most of life's problems according to Voltaire.

It's a quick adn easy read, and I guess it's a decent introduction to philosophy. But Bertrand Russel's History of Philosophy, it is not.

Voltaire was the most entertaining ************ of the 18th century. Read the book. You'll enjoy it.
