xbox and ps3 are both backward compatible. They didn't play ALL the old games, but since they both connect to internet, you can periodically download patches to add compatibility to more games. AI is much better. HD/blueray cds make room for more stuff in the games. I honestly don't want to offend you, but saying that they offer only better graphics is... No, i won't finish that sentence. Most games play the same, yes. The reason you only see the graphics (if you don't look "hard" enough) is because they are new consoles. The ps3 won't show it's true potential before a few years (as for every new consoles) and the xbox is lead by idiots who did nothing to take the market 1 year before the others.

Yes, xbox and ps3 are retailers *****. Nintendo is much better. They never tried to make money with their gameboys... [/sarcasm]. They are companies. That's what they do. I know it doesn't look like it, but i'm not saying that one console is better than the others. In my previous posts, i was saying that the Wii is not for me. In this post, i'm only correcting some false ideas you have. Like i said to a friend, don't listen to retailers employees. They're either saying anything to sell the consoles they have in store or don't have a clue. For the real informations:
