Exactly! I need to draw the line somewhere! Smiley: grin

Poland is out as well. Flea is willing to go there one of these days but neither of us think it'd be the perfect honeymoon get-away.

I spent a year there. There are some beautiful areas if you are traveling through--it sounds like you've been there. Poznan and Krakow are beautiful. I spent a lot of time in Warsaw too--and I think it is a city with a fabulous energy. Plus the whole forests in the Northeast. By the by, it's near the Baltic states and Ryga is a fabulous city. Estonia, the country, has great food. Vilnius has that observatory.

A Gypsy. I don't know specifically what nationality they are; Albanian maybe?

The Roma? They live in many nation states--They are believed to have originated in India. But they are mostly found in the Balkans.

I've never been but my family originates from outside of Krakow so I'd probably choose that as my destination once I finally get over there.

Are you high? Just curious because you talk funny and should therefore be persecuted because you are different. You're a dirty hippy, aren't you?

Hellifiknow. They are just a rag-tag ethnic jumble of dirtbags that live a nomadic lifestyle and like to steal sh*t. I really don't care where they came from, all I know is that the little bastards are everywhere and they have beady eyes and quick fingers.

When I was going to market in Peru with my aunt one morning, a six year old felt up my *** so I would turn towards him while his friend tried to stick his hand in my pocket. It would have worked, except nothing makes me flail about looking for a target as much as being touched without permission.

That, and like any smart Peruana, I keep my soles in my bra.

It's been said before, but: if you like heat, beaches, eco-touristy things aplenty, museums, open-air markets and friendly people, go to Costa Rica.

It's not dirt cheap, but meh. You can choose what color sand you want to laze around on!

I actually took you up on that suggestion before, but for my sister, who loves all of that. I like maybe a few hours on a beach, but then I get bored. Joph and I aren't really beach folk.

Me either, mostly because the sunblock hasn't been made that would let me survive equatorial glare.

So, Dubrovnik?

They are an actual ethnic group. They have been persecuted for centuries and in fact, it's created an idea that as a default, anyone associated with stealing is called a "Gypsy."

I knew some Roma families in Poland. They minded their own business and the surrounding people yelled at them, threw rocks at them and eventually their house "mysteriously" burned down. About a million Roma were murdered during the Holocaust as well. The issues with Roma remain a longstanding source of tension in Eastern Europe. They are almost wholly excluded from schools and political life, even when there have been attempts, like in Hungary, where Roma families have wanted to be educated or participate in the political process.

I would charter a sailboat head south to the Caribbean, thru the Panama canal to the Galapagos Islands.

Or

I would spend a solid week in a five-star hotel in Paris feasting on buttery pastries and delectable dishes while swilling scrumptious wine and visiting art museums.

You could stay stateside. New England is beautiful in September.

..typo..

I found a deal for a 7day Cozumel trip all inclusive for less than $400 a piece the other day. All you'd need to pay for is flight. It was to a beautiful resort. I've been trying to plan a scuba diving trip down there and I came acrossed it.
