This has been done but I'm too lazy to look and may as well solicit fresh opinions.

Assuming you have a week of free time, a valid passport, an airline ticket and enough money to keep yourself modestly sheltered and fed, where would you go visit?

Flea and I are tossing around honeymoon location ideas but don't let that be your guide. I'm interested in where you'd go, not where you think we should go.

If the ladyfriend has the choice it's going to be Korea. (She's never been there as an adult and she was born about 10 miles outside of Seoul, S Korea)Which would be cool but myself, I'd go to Japan. Check out the countryside, do the tourist bit, take in the scenery and scare the locals with my giant American size.

Either that or Germany. I'd like to visit firsthand my Grandparents neighborhood. And drink alot of good beer.

Time of year makes a huge difference on this one.

I'd flip a coin for Budapest or Prague.

Budapest is my favorite city in the WORLD! Secondly, you can also go to Pecs, the baths of Harkany, Lake Balaton and Esztergom--the second largest Cathedral on the European continent. I love Hungary. The food. The history. Everything! I spent about seven months there and LOVED IT!

I have always wanted to go to check out England, Ireland and Wales. Maybe tour some of the old castles and stone cricles and barrows etc.

I've always thought it would be fun to hike Hadrian's Wall.

I'd do a tour of Venice, Florence, Rome (plus Vatican), maybe Tuscany and Siena and someplace along the coast like Positano. Joph doesn't like Italy, and I don't like the idea of anything too bland like Ireland or Germany. It kind of limits our choices. Neither of us is into the beach or Asian culture. Time of year is September.

Joph doesn't dislike Italy, however nothing about Italy calls to Joph's soul. Which is odd because I should be interested in Italy what with Rome and the Vatican and the Renaissance and all that but... I dunno.

When I think "Italy", my first thought is "the only nation that deserves more contempt than France for its shitacular performance in WWI & WWII."

Do it!

If I had the time and money, I would go back in a heartbeat. **** Joph, leave him at home. I guarantee you will love it. Just make sure you dress like an american, otherwise they might mistake you for a dirty pikey.

September will still be a little busy, but at least most of the Italians will be back from their August vacazione. PM me if you are interested in any vacation info, I know a guy that knows a guy and I have a couple of sites that might interest you if you feel like seeing the real Italy.

Bzzzzt! Wrong answer. That would be the Duomo di Milano. Which, by the by, you should stop by and see while you are there Flea. Take the elevator up to the roof, the stairs suck.

A second choice for me would be Austrailia. Then again, I'm single and Aussies are supposed to be wicked hot and into American guys. The biggest turn off to going there is the 63 hour flight which would eat up too much of a one week trip.

Have you thought about taking him home to meet your family? If he's with you, he probably won't get mugged more than a few times.

Venice. I have always wanted to visit Venice and just lounge around the different palazzos and visit Harry's Bar.

Either that or Singapore.

I'd rather check out England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland during the summer.

My wife and I would love to go to Italy and visit her grandfather's village where he grew up as well as all the popular places like Venice, Rome, etc.

At this time of year, my choice would be Australia. Possibly the Carribbean. Yes, I'm not a winter person.

Japan would be interesting as well.

It's been suggested by him, not I. I declined because it would just turn into the Jophiel Tour of Approbation and Visa Solicitation, and I don't necessairily want to go on my honeymoon with 20 relatives.

A Gypsy. I don't know specifically what nationality they are; Albanian maybe? They just sort of wander around and steal things from people. I'm sure you've heard of them. The crazy people that drug up their babies, do belly dances, pick your pockets, and try to sell you wierd **** on the street like tissue packets or lighters. Wierd ******* I tell ya. They love Rome in the Summer time for the tourists, they make easy marks. A lot of them live in Naples year round for some reason as well.

I met a little pikey kid that was playing an accordian on the subway in Rome. Couldn't have been more than eight years old but he played rather well. Tossed him two bits and found the little bastage trying to stick his hand in my pocket when I wasn't looking.
