I just read an article in our local paper about a group of people who are now saying that God is offended by Christmas trees. Apparently it's a pagan symbol now. They'll probably ban pudding next.
That Jeremiah quote is always taken out of context though. Reading the entire chapter, Jeremiah is talking about carving wood into idols, not decorating conifers. The next verse or two mentions how the decorated wood can not walk or perform miracles -- things most people don't expect from their Douglas fir.
I would love to link the article, however printed text is so hard to copy paste. =/
1) Scan it 2) crop it nicely Run it through OCR software 3) optimize it for the web Correct spelling errors from ****** OCR software 4) upload it to <someserver> 5) Link it 6) Argue with Bodhi about it
Well, I guess we get our news a tad late here. Oh, and argue with Bodhi, I completely lack the effort that would require. That and I'd likely get destroyed. Carry on, nothing further to see here!

If your skin gets torn by wads of wet paper flung from a pea shooter, then yeah.
I've only been reading the Asylum for a few months, give me time to build up some resistances! Everyone has to start somewhere, even if it is below Bodhi.
