Joe Barbera, half of the Hanna-Barbera animation team that produced such beloved cartoon characters as Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear and the Flintstones, died Monday, a Warner Bros. spokesman said. He was 95.

I'm a little surprised none of you have posted about this yet. Most of the regulars around here are older and I figure most of you would have grown up with these cartoons as children. I recall watching just about all of his creations as reruns as a kid. Hell, I still watch them with my own kids twenty years later. Truly a loss for the entertainment industry.

I found myself watching the Flintstones Christmas special for the umpteenth time again the other day. Pebbles could actually talk!

Werd. I used to have a special VHS of seven or so cartoons that still make me laugh my *** off whenever I watch them today. Slowpoke Rodriguez, tan cómico!

R.I.P.

I liked Tom & Jerry when I was a kid, and yet, I had no idea that it was made by Hanna-Barbera.

Tom and Jerry was really a f*cked up cartoon. as a kid i just thought it was funny but man there are some underlying rage issues there.

It was the basis for The Simpsons' Itchy & Scratchy.

The old Tom & Jerry toons were great. Primarily a Warner Bros. toons guy myself, but I appreciate his contribution to the art.

I'm your Huckleberry...Hound Smiley: grin

Oh, and Betty Rubble was hawt. Smiley: drool2

Oh and they were way ahead of there time with having Snagglepuss, the pink gay mountain lion. Exit...stage right!

I'm in the Warner Bros. camp also. The Flintstones drove me crazy. The Jetsons were kind of fun, though.
