Inspired by some song I heard, yet another poll by Jophiel.

Assume that you have a significant other if you don't already and that, in the course of life, you come across a small book and, opening it, discover that it is obviously a diary/journal being kept by them. You are in no danger of being discovered if you spend 10-15min leafing through it and the page you had opened to has your name on it.
Would you read it?
Of course. We need, like, total openness or something. Plus, I'm nosey:19 (46.3%)
Maybe a quick peek at the page with my name. But then I'm done. Honest:14 (34.1%)
Of course not! What a breach of trust!:7 (17.1%)
I'd pocket it to make photocopies to pass around to my friends later:1 (2.4%)
Total:41

I'd like to say I wouldn't, but it would totally depend on my frame of mind at the time.

I'd read it. If the diary wasn't meant to be checked out, it'd be locked, hidden, or simply unwritten, but then I'd prolly buy an identical blank book and put it where I found it just to mess with Mrs. Totem's head.

Yeah, I totally would. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought her back.

I would like to say I wouldn't read the whole thing, but if I saw my name in it I'd probably read it before thinking twice about the consequences, feel really bad, and confess as soon as I saw them.

Luckily for me and my conscience, Flea's diary would probably be written in Spanish and I wouldn't have enough time to enter it into Babelfish.

I'd read it, of course. Then I'd drive myself to madness trying to decipher the hidden meanings and subtle symbols within the contents.

Yay!

I wouldn't read it - not because it'd be a breach of trust but because I prefer to live in a persistent state of denial.

The girlfriend has diaries since she was 10 years old sittingo out in the open in our bedroom. Never really felt the need to read em. Figured it would be like opening pandoras box.

If I was your girlfriend I'd be so offended that you didn't want to take the effort to get to know more about me.

To be honest, I'd *expect* my name to be in it. I'd read that page for sure. It would be seeing some other girl's name in it that would result in the full read and analysis.

Mr. Ambrya has the URL to my LiveJournal and is on my friends list, and I admit, sometimes I put things in there that I haven't actually ever told him. On very rare occasions, I will also use it to ***** about something he's done. But, he's never actually read it, or if he has, he's never said anything to me.

Note to self: Keep super secret diary, erm, journal, erm, author's notes for upcoming memoirs hidden safe from Flea.

Does it matter if the other female I wrote about was my mom?
