Seem to be alot of tech-heads in here.

I'm finally gonna get a portable play, I think, and can't decide between the ipod, zune, or a Zen.

I really like being able to have the music videos on them, so Im looking at ipod video over nano's.

Whats your experience with each? Any recommendations? I played with a Zune at Circut City, and it seemed really nice, there was no video on the opd to compare it to.

Annnd... wondering if its possible to put downloaded (not purchased) music videos etc on them, or, say I want to burn a movie dvd of mine onto it. Can you do that with both? Or do you have to buy them online through the service?

Thanks

I will also say I prefer wma to mp3, not sure what plays what.

I think thats all I had to ask. Smiley: dubious

I bought an Ipod, it completely ruined my relationship.

I wandered into a Best Buy with the intentions of buying a new music player to replace my aging mini disc player. I wandered the aisles, like a child in a toy store I ooh and ahhhed and every single gadget. Then I saw it. The sleek black Apple Ipod. Its crystal clear video, copious amounts of storage, ****** enducing aesthetic appeal. I knew I had to have it. So I got the attention of the teenage minimum wage sales associate and told him that I wished to purchase an Ipod. He smiled and said he would be happy to help me but I could tell from the look in his eye that he envious. 5 minutes later I was walking out of the store with my new baby. I got it home, opened the package and marvelled at its beauty. After importing a musical selection that would make even the most well versed audiophile shudder I decided to call it a night and go to bed.

Upon awaking I found that my already prodigious member had further increased in size. Pleasantly startled I tried to think of how this may have happened, perhaps a flow of growth hormone had been released, maybe the work of a wizard or jesus. Then I looked over and saw my Ipod glowing its gentle glow and I knew. My Ipod had increased the size of my *****.

Excited I had to show my girlfriend the good news. Too my suprise though she was less than impressed. She stared at my magnificent c'ock with a look of consternation. If I recall her correctly her exact words were 'uncomfortably large'. I dismissed it with a shrug and went about my day. However the following evening when myself and the SO attempted to have 'relations' all attempts were foiled by the simple fact that my dong was now to big.

That was three weeks ago. Three painful, sexless weeks. My girlfriend is now sleeping on the futon and I find that my back is now sore from having to lug my massive package about all day.

Damn you Apple, damn you Ipod. I want my life back!

I suggest you put your premium to good use and do a search on the subject. It's been addressed several times.

I don't see any reason to get a Zune over an ipod.. the music sharing feature's stupid, and why do you need a bigger screen to play music?

Zune plays video, also supports wma where Ipod does not.

However it is larger, uglier (matter of personal taste) and looking at the reviews the software it comes with is complete *****. Also can't use it as a portable harddrive unless you do some fiddling around.

Edit: Ewwww. I think one feature that had me interested was the wi-fi ability and song sharing turns out it comes along with "Three days, three plays". Or as one person noting the cons wrote

Quote:
-3 Plays, 3 Days - Absolute bull. When you transfer a song, it only plays 3 times, or you only get 3 days (whatever comes first). That is not near long enough to enjoy a song.

That is bunk. Go get an ipod.

I guess it's because I see no reason to watch video on a stupidass little portable thing, even if the screen is slightly bigger. ***********

Dunno, when I catch the greyhound down to my home town it is nice to be able to watch Lost/BSG/The Office or perhaps a movie of my choice rather than listening to a screaming baby for the entire ride.

Oh and they have Strong Bad video podcasts. So Trogdorr the Burninator is on their as well in all its conssumate V goodness.

I did search, didn't see much on it.
Didn't think a quick post would offend you. Sorry. Smiley: flowers

And I'm looking at Zune, because of the video, especially if I can burn some of my dvd's onto it, such as Season shows and whatnot. I loved my PSP for that reason but sold it. Also, the Ipod does not have a FM tuner, and the Zune does, which I like.

Was just looking for personal opinions, I don't trust review sites.

Thanks for the input.

Does this look like the OoT to you?

Thanks for playing.

And before you say that post says "these boards", I admit I was not specific, but I did mention I was still hanging around Alla. Asylum = Alla, not OoT. I wanted help on a OoT topic where alot of people seem to be gadget knowledgeable, and I came and asked. Sorry if I inconvenienced you.

This is the one I have. It's pretty good, 20GB harddrive, voice recording, text reader, and FM tuner. Also, you can drop it on the cement up to eight times before the casing falls off. It still works, just needs to be held together with tape. Plays .wma files and .mp3. Could play more types, but I haven't tried yet.
