So I stumbled upon this jewel. Now Niobia not only hates Kao but she hates Nexa as well. Fun stuff. It should provide you with hours of "amusement".

That thread totally stroked my eP33n in every delicious way. Page after page of butt-hurt OoT'ers crying about how special the treatment for Forum=4 is.

Ego Score! Smiley: laugh

Does it matter? Either answer makes me filled with ego-y goodness and joy.

That's what's important.

Of course it does. I could have spent pages of thread arguing with admins over how unfair the karma system is. That'd be much sadder Smiley: laugh

I laughed. Hell, the "discussion" was such a nice backdrop to the comic, I read it as well.

:D Thanks.

You know it is funny b/c when you step away, the whole karma stuff=fairly meaningless. It reminds me, though, of things like the Milgram Experiment, where if you put people under the right set of circumstances, they can act in ways that reveal something real shocking about people. Or something like that. In this case, I wonder if Karma plays into peoples feelings around being judged and it seems as if Karma makes it a really concrete thing--and that's why it drives people nuts.

What I find amusing about that thread is that no one seems to get that recognizing an asshat is an asshat does not equal bias. Hell, that's just common sense.

Most of the people crying because the admins don't "like" them have done everything in their power to make themselves utterly unlikeable (aeonsock, I'm looking at YOU!) If you do everything in your power to make yourself despicable, you have no one to blame but yourself when you are, in fact, despised.

Prejudice was invented by the karma system.

"He's default, so he must be writing ****! I'm not even going to read it, just rate him Awful."

Comprehension Ambrya? I never said I personally recieved unfair treatment, I just said it was very apparent that Kao plays favorites and that it affects his performance as a admin. Even people who are indifferent even pointed out that a select few admins are biased. Its not that hard a concept it really isnt, if you cant grasp it you are either blind or retarded.

Actually, you're the one with the comprehension problem. You cry about admin "bias" but every example of "bias" you cite is admins reacting favorably to posters who make a legitimate contribution to the community, and unfavorably to posters who go out of their way to be disruptive to the community.

Now, scroll up and read again the portion where I refer to the common-sense nature of recognizing an asshat is an asshat. If you can't recognize the difference between rewarding good behavior and punishing bad behavior and actual "bias" then your comprehension of that word you bandy about so frequently and casually is obviously suffering.

Infact Ambrya you stumped me with your clear-cut logic so now I'm going to let this post devolve into personal remarks that have nothing to do with the point you were trying to make in an attempt to rerail the discussion.

Fixed for ya.

Enough of the self-referential crap.

The main point of a forum should not be to talk about the forum.
