Boss: Where'd you learn to talk like that?
Deputy: I've been wanting to say that to somebody for eight years. My slave master said that to me once. It sounded so funny I never forgot it. Ha ha ha.

On that topic; why did Freeman have to die in Unforgiven? Name one person that wouldn't have rather seen Eastwood propped up in the coffin. I mean come on, even Danny Glover made it through Silverado without a scratch, and he's Danny Glover for fucksake.

edited because the language filter won the first round, the tricky bastard...

You are fucking kidding, right?

Oh please. Tell me you're not a red-blooded Eastwood fan, and just made the comment based on the storyline...

Freeman dying in Unforgiven was a major plot point, Clint's character wouldn't have gone over the edge like he had if that hadn't happened. He was leaning that way, but he didn't go completely beserk until his friend got killed.

On the other hand, if it had been Clint's character who got killed, it would have entirely destroyed any reason for the story. It would have been like Riggs getting killed in the first Lethal Weapon. You'd be like "Wow, didn't see that coming" but that'd be the best reaction you could hope for.

C'mon. Clint Eastwood is just too rattlesnake mean to die in any of his movies. The guy personifies the old onery cowboy of indeterminate age that shoots people for trespassing on his land, boils his coffee over open coals, and has skin so tough he uses melanoma as a tanning device.

As part of the story line, sure, he couldn't die as it just wouldn't have worked. A fair point, if my original post had been at all serious...

I will get to see him kick off eventually. It'd make me feel less guilty however, if it happened in a movie.
