Realized I haven't shared:
We didn't get on the road until 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. And we were figuring that we would freaking be in traffic until we pulled into San Diego. Nope. Not even. We slowed down here and there, but stayed above 60 mph, and as soon as we got over the Grapevine, we took the 210 to the 15 and bam! NO TRAFFIC. It was glorious. The driving distance is about 20 miles more, but with no traffic like on the 5, it was more than an hour shorter.
So Thanksgiving Day was at a cousin's house that afternoon and we hung out there for the actual family thing. Lots of food. Filipinos have no clue what portion control means. My father cooked about 10 pounds of lobster, 15 pounds of crab. Not to mention the turkey and regular food, and then of course the Filipino food. Hubby's been itching to make another baby and the whole time when I was holding one of the babies, he just kept looking at me like "See? We could so have another one."
So Friday, early morning hubby wanted to hit Fry's Electronics. Hahahahaha. I can still laugh at the line. It was crazy. I kept telling him that people will camp out overnight to get a crack at the specials and he wouldn't believe me. Well, when he saw Wal-Mart and Fry's, he was just like "All right, let's have breakfast at Denny's and come back." So when we got back at Fry's, we bought my laptop and a camcorder.
Now, I have to go on and on about my laptop. I love my laptop. If that thing vibrated and could cook and clean, I wouldn't need the hubby. I'm kidding. But I just love the 17.1" widescreen and it has all the bells and whistles with a good enough graphics card that I can play games on it. The only thing it doesn't have is a TV Tuner and Blu-Ray capabilities. Now, trust me, I agonized over whether we should get the higher end laptop. And in some ways, I still wish we did. But I can't justify spending additional money for those things.
The Camcorder records in 5.1 surround sound. Did we need a camcorder like that? Nope. Did we still feel like we had to buy it? Yup. But hubby and I agreed that between his PlayStation 3, the Camcorder and my laptop, we are tapped out for buying gifts for each other. So we're concentrating on the kids this year.
Okay, we also went house hunting. Hubby and I just realized that the drive between San Diego and the Riverside area is just too freaking long so we will most likely be concentrating on the San Diego area for a house. Unless I do find a job in the Riverside area that pays enough. We did find a house we adored that the realtor said the price was reduced, but the listing price was reduced from $1.1 million to $899,000. Yeah. That house is off our list.
Did go to a party at another cousin's house. Everyone pretty much got tore up (except for me and hubby). I rarely drink and when I do, it's very light. I sincerely hope my cousins remember that night at least.
Icing on the cake too this past weekend was the Broncos lost! Woot! Sorry hubby.
Drive home was not bad at all. We left at 5 in the morning and we walked in the door at 9:15 a.m. No traffic. So what is this holiday traffic that people speak of?
