Everquest II

Blackburrow Server

Guild = Bane.

Make it snappy, retail version of Echoes of Faydwer comes with all previous expansions plus the original game. Or if you are a cheap cnut you can pick up EQII original for 9.99.

I almost started EQ2 a few months ago. I downloaded the trial and was all set to log in until I remembered how much fun it actually was. My first time around I made it to around maybe 30 on a Conjuror in FP (yes I did betrayal).

Oh and I also realized that no one here really likes me enough to invite me into your uber guild. Smiley: laugh

You want guild drama? Come play EQ1 on Morden Rasp. Apparently Dothammer is running Aude Sapere into the ground by demanding all members be subservient to his squadron of alts.

I went over and played Eq1 for a month before the release of EoF. The new TSS expansion was pretty neat. Had a good time playing with Aud Sapere. Dot, Krieg and Jonwin are good people. I just found the combat too archaic. Also having to hunt for quests was a pain. I think if I had more free time I would still be playing.

LOTRO is a cool game but 4 classes is not enough to keep me interested. Plus I have come upon a new philosophy. I don't want to come into a game knowing everything. Being suprised and having that newb feeling when entering a new MMO isn't a bad thing. I just may pick up LOTRO when it is released, but I don't plan on burning out on it before it is even released.

WoW, probably the first MMO that I can safely say that I palpably hate. If I have to go through the same 1-60 content again I will puke. That statement becomes only more powerful when you take into consideration that I played FFXI and would rather play that piece of sh'it again than WoW.

I think the beauty of EQ2 is that I have a good group of people to play with and none of the Asylum baggage. Though it is nice to have the occassional asylumite stop by and help them out. Whether it be Git, Ambrya, Nade or even a person who flies under the radar like Sockpuppette.

Aaaah, that almost made me want to play EQ2 again. Almost.

I say try Oblivion and avoid the Guild bullshit altogether. If a Guild member pisses you off in OB, you can kill him/her and the entire bloodline, and loot the corpses at your leisure. Never could get away with that in EQ...

My wife was showing me all the new tier 5 armor for some of the classes (warrior, paladin, warlock, mage and priest). Looked pretty spiffy. It's definitely tempting to have another go at WoW if I don't let the 1-60 grind bother me. If I do hop into WoW, where is everyone playing now? Shadow Council still? If you let me know, I promise not to destroy your guild Smiley: grin

I pop into the mmorpg that shall not be named once in a while, but if nobody is on, I just log back out - I agree with Bhodi - I don't want to lose the discovery fun of this game before it's released. I'll definitely be picking it up when it comes out though. It really is awesome.

Taco, have you tried any other MMORPG other than EQ1 yet? It would be great to hook up with you again in WoW, EQ2, or LOTR when it's released. Then there's Warhammer Online next year - schweeet mmorpg goodness...Smiley: drool2

I've been having a nice break from PC games for a bit playing Gears of War on the X-Box 360. Definitely my pick for Game of the Year. The commericial was made with the in-game engine. It looks that amazing...

I actually tried out EVE for a little while... but then I realized that I'm never, ever going to catch up to the people who started playing when the game was new. That's the problem with there being no real "cap". A core group of players surges ahead and leaves anyone who wants to get into the game in the dust. It was a nice change of pace from WoW, though, while the "newbie" feeling lasted.

I also gave EQ2 a shot a ways back, but my computer wasn't up to the task. The frame rate was choppy even when the game was on minimum settings. I may give it another shot when I get my new computer come Christmastime.

As for WoW, I'm taking a break until The Burning Crusade comes out. I joined up with a PvP guild that's going to jump in on the new TBC servers as soon as they are booted up, which is going to be a riot. I always loved PvP more than everything else.

Speaking of PvP, the game I'm really looking forward to is Warhammer Online. I'm getting a spot in that beta if it kills me.

I'm still on Shadow Council. Joined a heavy RP guild with Dahlira (alliance priest) and still soloing with Grelan on Horde side.

I'm having a blast with it.

I like to bend the drama with my mind. To do so, you must remember that the drama does not really exist.
