So. slow forum day.

Waht are you currently doing? At work? At home being a bum?

I'm trying to clear out the last of my tasks before the short week is over. Just finished replacing a CDRom drive that the President's admin assistant has been ******** at me about for a few weeks. (sorry, priorities.. you'll have to copy your French hip-hop CDs on your own time).

Just tripled the RAM in the PC of a new blonde hottie. Amazing how ecstatic people get wehn Office takes less than 5 minutes to open. I swear I could have seduced her right there.. alas.. she went to lunch...

Now I'm trying to negotiate the ordering of some new PCs...
Also ned to think of a way to make the President approve for me some much needed upgrades to our network. Trying to get him to approve any purchases is like pulling teeth.

I need a new Tape Drive for the Exchange Server... right now there is a crappy IDE drive that takes 2 days to complete backups... and marks it as FAILED because of the files taht are in use die to the fooker taking 2 days to complete the damn backup.
A new tape drive is out of the question for now as fiscal year just passed a few months ago.... So I'm stuck struggling...

I think I'm gonna skip out of here soon and go to one of my off-site offices (which is convieniently 10 minutes from my home which will allow me to avoid the normal 2 hour rush hour drive from my main office...

So Until then I'm in my little closet office with some nice streaming Ska filling the hallways outside my door. I love the looks I get from people walking by... especially from all the Jamaican women. They are facinated with me. I have burned for them several Ska CDs already....

I still have some half warm coffee left from this morning.. McDonald's coffee really isn't all that bad.

Need to make some last minute Thanksgiving plans.. going over Grandparent on Father's side.. (sometimes annoying having 2 sides of family in different counties).

So until then it's responding to emails.. closing out completed issues... make a once over of the place... change backup tapes .. and get the HELL out of here.

So feel free to bore me with the banalities of your day as well Smiley: grin

It's a slow work week since not too much bidding gets done before Thanksgiving. Either people wanted their answers already or else they'll want them after the holiday but no one is going to be interested in a quote on Wednesday afternoon. So I've just been putzing around with what little work I have and waiting for the next 45min to roll around, at which point I'm taking off to pull my kid out of class and take him to the dentist.

Exciting times.

I've spent about 19 hours trying to fix a drawer.

Good times, good times. I'm rapidly reaching what I like to refer to as the "Sledgehammer/New Cabinet" stage.

Supposedly it's slow before the Holidays, but we've gotten slammed today. 7 out of 10 of all of our patients are Spanish-speakers, and my feet hurt. Taking a quick lunch break before the 2pm rush.

im at work with no end in sight to the bordem. and no short week for me cause we are 24 hours and somone needs to hold down the fort while management is on vacation. bastards.

i am planning in my head what i will do when i get home. pick up son, wash clothes, play wow, eat dinner (im ordering in, too lazy to cook), watch tv, play more wow, finish my book and then...sleep. so pretty much another boring week that will blend into the next boring week until my glorious 13 day vacation that starts next friday.
the only thing good about today is that it's somones b-day so there is free cookie cake in back. yum.

I'm at home, trying to work. I really should be working, or unpacking these boxes.

But what I want to do is take a nap.

Or buy some more pickles.

I'm trying to finish up the last of my client work before the week. Last minute enhancments are making it difficult, but I will be all caught up by COB tomorrow.

Right now I'm fighting with a reordering items in a grid in a .NET client application. This battle should be over within the hour, and then it's just updated a couple of stored procedures and I'm outta here for today!

Tommorrow will be another story... I have 4 wrapper classes to write for other developers to use interally. Once that is done, we will be one step closer to standarized how all of our applications are migrated from development to staging to live.

Had an early surf at dawn here. Now sitting around at work waiting for a woman to either give birth (or not). Reading the news, eating Crunchy Nut Corn flakes and generally slacking.

Lurvly day outside, so prolly more surfing this arvo, and a bit of gardening activity after that, if I can be @rsed...

Yay, summer.

I barely got any sleep last night. I had to take a stupid gestational diabetes test today. Mia decided she won't nap and I'm grumpy as hell.

Bleh.

Give her a bottle and when she zones out, put a really warm blanket over her. Lights out!

Sounds great, except that she hasn't had bottles for a year now. Smiley: lol

Would work great on me, though.

I've been on the go almost all day. Took son to an open preschool gym for an hour, took my dog to the groomers, stopped at a craft store to get some supplies, started making thanksgiving crafts with my son, picked up the dog. Just got home and Im contemplating whether a cup of coffee would even touch the exhaustion Ive been feeling. I am now in the "can't sleep for more than 30 minutes" phase and it's kicking my ***.

Grape flavored children's Benadryl chew tablets, works every time.Smiley: wink

Either that or put a Robert Altman movie in the DVD player, that should do the trick.

They sell these nifty drawer kit things at Home Depot...maybe that would help.
