For the uncouth, The Ashes is a Cricket grudge-match between England & Australia which we decisively won last year.

(For nerds - The Ashes)

Sad thing is the time-lag. Aussy is ha;f a day ahead of UK, so for Pat, tarv etc.

I present:

I actually just started reading Douglas Adams earlier today. Got a copy of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for 1.99 at the used book store. The greatest store in the history of man, aside from Best Buy.

Ahhhh the Ashes. Nothing better than turning the radio or TV on and relaxing in front of it listening to the Aussies smash the Poms (sorry Nobby). Unfortunately I didn't get to see much of the first test, but I'll be trying to listen to it on the radio while at work. I think England will put up another good fight this time (let's not including the first test).

I can't argue in favoUr of the English performance. Inconsistent and sloppy bowling and fielding, and batting like a 1-day School game.

Flintoff gave glimpses of brilliance but we should have played Monty Panesar with (not instead of) Ashley Giles.

We could come back and win the series, but we need to buck our ideas up.

McGrath is still amazing. The bastage!

The only time I was exposded to cricket was as a child. Pinocchio really wasn't that nice to Jiminy either.

Optimistic Poms are saying Brissie was just a warm up match. Since we have to win, and they only have to draw the series it's now all square.

Bring on Adelaide!

Note: Navigating dungeons at the same time as watching the cricket makes you prone to falling in lava pits, not noticing that elite powering up just over there, tumbling off a cliff and a death rate many times the usual. You will be the laughing stock of your guild but it'll be worth it to see that perfect Langer cut shot. ;-)

Unfortunately I think that last year the planets must have been in alignment, this year as long as it doesn't blow out to 5-0 than I will be happy.

I see Aussies winning 3-0

Yayyyyy we go two up. Sorry Poms, it wasn't a bad effort though :-)

It was an appalling effort.

We need to drop Anderson & Harmison, and use Monty Panesar and Khalid Mahmood

Then. If we can assassinate Warne, Cooke & McGrath, our Pansy English team might stand a chance.

Well played Aussies.

I was down near the Adelaide Oval on the last day and the noise was tremendous. More like a one day match than a test lol. Unfortunately I couldn't be there.
This is still looking a good series but i think you guys are starting to get your back against the wall. Lets hope you can pull something out of the hat in Perth.
By the way I thought Pontings decision not to enforce the follow on at the Gabba smacked of raw commercialism. I thought he was under orders from the ACB to ensure there would be no three day tests! In fact I am positive.
When the enemy is down you crush him not let him off the hook so to speak.

the ONLY possitive note from this series is that the convicts only have 2 players in the team under 30... by the time the next series comes around most will be retired dead or on thier last tour.

except Warne who will still be bowling from a wheel chair in 2019.

What a pitiful performance, too many passengers.
Why not play Monty from the outset, Giles scored what 27 from 4 innings and Jones a double in the third.
Adelaide we just needed to make 200 to force a draw!

Hopefully a plague hits Australia soon and takes out all there bowlers.

We have special programmes so find and train new and upcoming cricket players :) So I doubt that will ever happen :P A great series and I especially loved the second test. What a comeback that was! I'll be down in Melbourne for the Boxing Day test, so I'll be trying to get some tickets of scalpers.

You want to take bets on that? from the reports i read australian cricket is heading from a huge dip when the old guard leave, the fact that you second string would struggle to compete with the english ladies team was that best quote i heard Smiley: lol

face it you wouldn't keep playing the likes of Langer, Clarke Hayden if you had good kids to bring in, it's bad for the long term.
