The new Ipod needs to be filled.

I need to buff up my catalog of 60's, 70's classic songs. Think I have the basics covered. The Doors, Beatles, Rollings Stones, CCR, Hendrix, Joplin, Velvet Underground etc.

Thinking more stuff you know but never think of stuff for example Go Ask Alice by Jefferson Airplane.

Also need help selecting songs from the following bands:

The Band.

Dylan

Cream / Clapton

Anything and everything. Albums, specific songs, live performances.

The Allman Brothers Band -- At Fillmore East
The whole album

Grand Funk Railroad -- We're an American Band

The Band -- Up on Cripple Creek

Dylan -- Tamborine Man

Clapton -- Don't Know Why

I may think of a few more later.

Throw any Zeppelin on there just to be safe.

Jessica - Allman Brothers

The Weight and It makes No Difference - The Band

Go for some Floyd. I like Meddle and Wish You Were Here (the entire albums).

Pretty much can't lose with Dylan either.

Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow
Steely Dan - Aja
Led Zeppelin - How the West was Won (live album)
Yes - Fragile
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King
The Who - Quadrophenia

As for Cream, Wheels of Fire is a great album and live performance in one package.

You're too short to be Clapton.

If PicklePrince was around he would suggest Nick Drake.

He isn't so I will.

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter (entire album)

Also, do yourself a favour and get My Bloody Valentine - Loveless if you don't already have it. It isn't 60's or 70's. Get it though.

Just because.

1)The 13th Floor Elevators: "You're Gonna Miss Me." The elevators were a fucking brilliant band, till the lead singer went insane and was committed to an asylum.

2) T.Rex: "The Jeepster","Mambo Sun", and "Metal Guru".

3) Cheap Trick: "I Want You to Want Me/Surrender" off the At Budokan lp.

4)Iggy & The Stooges, aka The Stooges: "1969" and "Search and Destroy".

5)James Gang: "Funk #48, and #49", "Walk Away".

6)Otis Redding: "These Arms of Mine", and "I've Been Loving You Too Long".

7)Sweet: "Fox on the Run".

8)Faces:"Cindy Incidentally" and "Ooh La La".

To satisify your quota of "classic" music, I'd suggest some Guns 'N Roses...pick your songs, they're all great. I personally like "Sweet Child O' Mine", but to each their own. Anyway, some other good songs I randomly picked from my I-tunes library:

Flogging Molly- "The Seven Deadly Sins"
Cobra Starship- "Send My Love to the Dance Floor, I'll See You In Hell (Hey Mr. DJ)"
The Killers- "When You Were Young" (although I've noticed some fans don't like it...if you're one of them, then go with one of their older songs, or one you like more from Sam's Town)
Poets of the Fall- "Carnival of Rust" (all of their songs are good, this is just my favorite of theirs)
Falco- "Rock Me Amadeus" (ah what the hell)

*shrug* there's a couple. Don't say I never did nothing for the peoples.

I am not much of a classic rock buff so I'll stay away from that.

If you are looking for some ambient "electronic" chill music I recommend Delerium Link click on Discography and you can listen to samples from all 12+ of their albums.

He said he was looking for 60's and 70's classic rock. Not 90's and 00's.

Dumbass.

When I think 70's, for some reason I think "George Clinton and the Parliment Funkadelic". Funk > Rock.
