I think generally they're referring to the actual Zionist movement, which stemmed from people who believe in a god given right to greater Israel, but wasn't just a belief. They actually did it. They moved out and snatched it out from under the feet of everyone who had been there for centuries.

I think it's all water under the bridge now, and we should let bygones be bygones, but I can't say that there is no reason to resent what was done, but what's done is done.


I certainly don't condone any terrorism against Israel, or anywhere, but on the same token... they're pretty much asking for it when they fire missiles into civilian crowds. No, the tension and hatred of Israel isn't going to go away anytime soon - not so long as Israel acts like terrorists themselves. Iran isn't suddenly going to support them when the ink is still wet on the papers reporting yet another incident of Israel shooting missiles at innocent civilians.
