WASHINGTON - Programming errors and inexperience dealing with electronic voting machines frustrated poll workers in hundreds of precincts early Tuesday, delaying voters in Indiana, Ohio, Miss. and Florida and leaving some with little choice but to use paper ballots instead.

In Cleveland, voters rolled their eyes as election workers fumbled with new touchscreen machines that they couldn’t get to start properly until about 10 minutes after polls opened.

Is it at all possible that we could find even less qualified people to oversee the electoral process? Infants riding on rabid great danes maybe?

I hate America.

A few years back, Robert Mugabe offered to send Zimbabwean Electoral Observers to USA

You turned him down.

Most of the folks that have the time to do this sort of thing are retired patriots with a poor understanding of modern technology. You're actually one of the few with enough time to do this, seeing as you don't have a 9-5. Why don't you volunteer?

Pshhaw, if he did that, he'd have no time to post complaints about the process! Priorities! :P

Well, you see, I live in Massachusetts, where the unqualified poll workers are the relatives of the unqualified local election comities who are the ner do well cousins of the unqualified state representatives who saw Ted Kennedy getting a hummer from a cocktail waitress in a drive in in 1971.

So really, I'm just not qualified.

Whatever! My whole congressional delegation, and every single person who represents me in government in any way is or will be a Democrat after this election, Ms. "I have two Republican Senators but don't participate in politics other than to mail in my vote"!!

I'm personally responsible for Massachusetts's being so liberal. Without me, they'd call it "Georgia with pine trees!"

Hey! I write to my useless senators all the damn time and usually even OPEN the form letters they send back to me to tell me that they're totally not voting for anything I want!

Forget the old farts. They are the least of the problems.

Theres plenty more underhanded nonsense going on...

Heres an excerpt from an article by Greg Palast,

Quote:
On January 1, 2006, while America slept off New Year's Eve hangovers, a new federal law crept out of the swamps that has devoured 1.9 million votes, overwhelmingly those of African-Americans and Hispanics. The vote-snatching statute is a cankerous codicil slipped into the 2002 Help America Vote Act -- strategically timed to go into effect in this mid-term year. It requires every state to reject new would-be voters whose identity can't be verified against a state verification database.

Sounds arcane and not too threatening. But look at the numbers and you won't feel so fine. About 24.3 million Americans attempt to register or re-register each year. The New York University Law School's Brennan Center told me that, under the new law, Republican Secretaries of State began the year by blocking about one in three new voters.

How? To begin with, Mr. Bush's Social Security Administration has failed to verify 47% of registrants. After appeals and new attempts to register, US Elections Assistance Agency statistics indicate 1.9 million would-be voters will still find themselves barred from the ballot on Tuesday.

But don't worry: those holding passports from their ski vacations to Switzerland are doing just fine. And that's the point. It's not the number of voters rejected, it’s their color.
LINK

Theres plenty more.....And he ends by saying

Quote:

It's true you can't win with 51% of the vote anymore. So just get over it. The regime's sneak attack via vote suppression will only net them 4.5 million votes, about 5% of the total. You should be able to beat that blindfolded. If you can't get 55%, then you're just a bunch of crybaby pussycats who don't deserve to win back America.

Big deal, darkies don't vote anyway. If they'd only have gone along with my plan to have a raffle for free 19 inch rims in each precinct, the Dems would never lose another election.

Well...Here in Worcester MA it's the Latinos that go after the rims to put on their 93' Geo Metro. But then agian most the Latinos in MA can't vote anyway....I think you'd do better by offering up some KFC and Timberland work boots.

Funny, I was only whitey at my polling place, when I got there. Guess they hid the fried chicken and biscuits when they saw me coming to crash their party.

I agree with you Smash, year old infants should not be allowed in the electoral process, regardless of whether there are 1000 of them or not.

Quantity does not equal quality.

Right, because black voters have never been disenfranchised in the US. That stopped happening in 1966.

Ehco! Echo! Echo!

Sure. So lets just take some guys rant at face value. After all, his data (which he magically fails to provide and apparently pulled out of his ***) shows that black folk's registrations get tossed out 900% more often then white folks! Honest! Really. It's true...

And let's not even consider that maybe many of those registrations that have been blocked are because Dems have for decades embarked on a campaign to register those people who don't vote at all and then vote for them. Hmmm... Ever consider that the reason the numbers are so high among blacks and latinos is that those two groups also have the lowest voting rates overall? If I were going to find lists of people who were not registered to vote and had never voted, I'd go looking at birth records in the hood, register them and then send my drogues around to vote as those people.

But that's just crazy, right? You'd need a tin-foil hat on your head to believe that...

echo chamber indeed!

Now you're getting the point!

Ask yourself why you're demanding a cite of my tin-foil hat conspiracy theory, but gave the one presented earlier a pass. Think *realllly* hard.
