Sora, I'm confused. Are you asking about songs to walk out to ("First Dance") type music, or reception music in general? Do you want something dark, or happy?

As far as I can say, the songs that have hit me the hardest are some of the classics, and for that very reason.

In My Life, The Beatles
I'll Stand By You, The Pretenders
What a Wonderful World, or A Kiss To Build A Dream On, both by Louis Armstrong
She's Got a Way, Billy Joel
Can't Take My Eyes Off of You, Valli and the 4 Seasons
The Way You Look Tonight, Our Love is Here to Stay, or Fly Me To The Moonall by Sinatra
First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Roberta Flack
I Can't Help Falling In Love, Elvis
Overjoyed, Stevie Wonder
When I Grow Too Old To Dream by Nat 'King' Cole

We want to steer away from the traditional icon love songs that you hear at every wedding. I would love to come out to a song thats both musically and vocally chilling. The type of song that shoots through you, full of emotion and all that jazz.

I think "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails would be pretty original.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Yeah I just realized how confusing it was, basically I was looking for our song, the one we dance to alone. The rest of the reception can be whatever the DJ wants minus The Macarena, Chicken-dance or Electric Slide. We are close to doing a choreographed number to Black Betty by Ram Jam as an intro for the Wedding Party. Her Daddy Daughter song is going to be something by the Rolling Stones and I will do something Motown/Oldies for Mom and Son dance.

Oh and in terms of dark or happy ehhh a nice happy medium. Think Evanesence but not Evanesence, a female vocalist is a must. Something by Delirium, Dead Can Dance...Smiley: confused

Playing James CUnt anywhere in my vicinity would be immediate grounds for divorce with extreme prejudice. Additionally, any endorsement of song abuse via Houston would earn lesser, but stil severe, sanctions.

Yeah I actually was aiming this question at DSD she just seems like the person that would know what the fUck I am talking about. A lot of good suggestions though I really do appreciate it. I'll try and get my hand on some of them this weekend.

Smash- Angel just seemed a wee bit too morbid for a wedding, regardless that is a really good song.

In the "First Dance" motif, I'm a fan of Holly Cole's cover of "God Only Knows". I'm also a fan of the original, of course, but if you were looking for something a little different...

Back to Flea's suggestion, I originally posited L. Cohen's live version of "Dance Me To The End of Love" off of the Essential album (I like it better than the studio version) but Flea ain't a fan of Lenny's voice. She came up with the cover she mentions above but I haven't vetted it yet.
