I have to agree, too. Smash said what I was thinking, but in a more gbaji-like way.
I really can't fault anyone for wanting due compensation for their copyrighted work. They worked hard for it (presumably), and they should be paid. I just think the extent some of these companies go to some times is ridiculous. Even all the way back to Metallic Vs. Napster.
Don't get me wrong, if someone is out there (other than official sites) is charging a fee to download whatever property, then yeah...they should be sued. But if it's a free site where people are openly sharing material, they just need to back the @#%^ off. What's next? Monitering sites like YouSendIt and DropLoad? I use those two sites to transfer virtually all of my D&D and White Wolf books. Aren't those sites just as guilty?
Also, it's not just the site alone. Is the person who uploads the material not just as guilty? Aren't the people who download the material just as guilty?
In the end, this thing is just too big to control. I think the major companies just need to have a pow-wow, smoke some peace pipes, and prioritize the major offenders to go after.
