It's almost enough to make me want to play Eve Online again.

I liked Eve but it needed a guild or at least other people to play with on a regular basis to make it worth while.

It's quite possible to never leave a n00b corp and make lots of ISK and have fun. Although, that's definately not for me. The real fun is in 0.0 space with a corp.

Gave my account away to a scruffy programmer.

Was about to make the leap over to 0.0 but really other than fleet operations the rest of the game is boring. Mining, agent missions, enough to make my eyes bleed.

Being in 0.0 space when all I've worked up to is cruiser class was a nice adrenaline rush- especially since I had experienced first hand what can happen if you're not careful. Made some nice isk from the split from the corp though.

I also remember one time, somebody in our corp got a little peeved that someone was ninja-mining in our claimed space. This guy had a spot out in the middle of BFE that you can't warp to, you can only micro-warp/afterburn/coast to it, to place his main mining ship, a battleship class (I think it was, it's been awhile- was defiantly over cruiser level) while he was hauling ore back and forth from the system to a station.

Well, one of our corp mates had a wild hair about this, and decided to do something about it- using the directional scanner, he found the guy's battleship, and flew to it, ever so slowly (he REALLY had it way the hell out there.). Finally got there, bookmarked it, took note of the ship he used, and got a corp-mate that had the ability to pilot the ship come along in a shuttle- while the person was making an ore run, they warped out there, swapped his battleship with a shuttle, and warped out.

That's the beauty of eve. It's very pvp-centric but at the same time, not. It's hard to explain. It's quite easy to hunt the astroid belt pirates or mine in 0.0 and not be bothered much. But, at the end of the day it's really about the pvp and taking/holding your own piece of space.
