He was born Sat Oct 28th @ 7:04 pm. Delivered by C-Section at 33 weeks, the decision was made at about 6:00 pm after two weeks of very close monitoring because of concerns detected from previous ultrasounds. (very small, not growing, low fetal movements)
He was in significant respiratory distress for the first 18 hours. At about 1:30 pm Sunday, the medical staff performed a procedure which cleansed the lungs of their fetal matter (I'm sorry I don't remember the exact name of the procedure or material). The procedure involved tubes and drugs, and of course the little fellow. The procedure appears to have worked, and David is now progressing as expected for a fellow of his gestational age.
The picture you see there is while David was being held by his mom for the first time. (monday morning). I'd already gotten to hold him in the operating room, on Saturday and welcome him to the world.
