Ronnie James Dio, who replaced original Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne as part of the band's early '80s lineup, has been recording new songs with Iommi in England, O'Connor said.

Sabbath is nothing without Ozzy.

Chorus:
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

Say you dont know me or recognize my face
Say you dont care who goes to that kind of place
Knee deep in the hoopla sinking in your fight
Too many runaways eating up the night

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, dont you remember
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

Chorus:
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

Someone always playing corporation games
Who cares theyre always changing corporation names
We just want to dance here someone stole the stage
They call us irresponsible write us off the page

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, dont you remember
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

Its just another sunday, in a tired old street
Police have got the choke hold, oh then we just lost the beat

Who counts the money underneath the bar
Who rides the wrecking ball in two rock guitars
Dont tell us you need us, cos were the ship of fools
Looking for america, coming through your schools

(Im looking out over that golden gate bridge
Out on another gorgeous sunny saturday, not seein that bumper to bumper traffic)

Dont you remember (member)(member)

(whats your favorite radio station, in your favorite radio city
The city by the bay, the city that rocks, the city that never sleeps)

Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, dont you remember
We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

We built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll
Built this city, we built this city on rock and roll

(we built, we built this city) built this city (we built, we built this city)

(repeats out)

Ronnie James Dio is the coolest midget in rock.

So? Ozzy is Ozzy, put very simply... a band can't switch lead singers. It's like how they put that dude from Bad Company (who's name slips my mind atm) and put him in the place of Freddy Mercury. Sure he's good, but you can't replace Freddy's spirit. Queen won't be the same, ever.

Good to see David Lee Roth put the crack pipe down long enough to post on our little board. How quaint.

Steve Perry's replacement didn't do too bad.

And yes, Haggar sucked.

The whole band sucked from day one.

Trying to discriminate between the two incarnations is like saying "Drinking a gallon of elephant ***** is much worse than drinking a gallon of rhinoceroses *****"

I disagree. Rhino ***** is much nuttier, while elephant ***** has more of a fruity-hoppy taste.

Well considering it's not going to be Black Sabbath whats the problem? (yes, yes, I know that they were Sabbath with Dio in the 80's)

This band/incarnation is going to be called Heaven and Hell. Named after a BS song. Smiley: lol

Aye, true, but you can't call it Black Sabbath without Ozzy as the front man. Bill ward isnt a great drummer, Geezer is amazing, and Tony could use some touching up on his skills. All I know is I hope this isn't the end of a several decade reign of the King of Metal, Ozzy Osbourne. (feel free to disagree)

No **** sherlock.

Read the damn link;

Black Sabbath Members to Form New Band

What part of new band don't you understand? Hell it's in big bold letters at the top. It's not Black Sabbath, douche. It's members of BS starting a new band called Heaven and Hell. It's not any different than a member of a popular band going solo or hell even, of course it's not going to be the same thing. That's why it's a different name.

My point is that it is the same band members except for a new singer. I appologize for not making my post more clear, and for my douchebaggery. However, it will be close to the same style of music, because Geezer wrote the songs for Black Sabbath way back when. Unless he has had some sort of revelation, it will be quite similar to the old stuff. I know that this is a completely new band, but it is made (with the exception of Dio) of completely old members.

I don't mind saying that I thought Heaven & Hell was a bloody good album.

And one of my claims to fame is that Ozzy's kid brother used to drink in my pub until I barred him for being an cUnt,

So what are you complaining about? I could understand if they changed singers but kept the band name. Even then some bands change and evolve even without changing members. Some fans prefer older stuff and some like the new direction they're headed, but I hardly see why you're complaining if it isn't even the same band.

Not quite complaining, but voicing an opinion. I think this new band COULD be good if they stick to what they know, but they need to keep that old feeling going. The whole point is that Ozzy is old. I know that, but the members of Black Sabbath starting a new band just seems wierd without the charasmatic front-man.

Barring people from a British pub just for being a cUnt could end up putting you out of business. Totally killing your customer base.

He almsot killed my customer base.

Staggering around rat-****** smelling of **** and leering over gurlies (while generously sloshing beer over them) was his shtick. Any challenge was responded to with "Do you know who I am".

I think he's barred from all the pubs in town.

actually they wanted to tour under sabbath, but iommi was foolish enough to sell the name to sharon in the eighties, so naturally she wont let them use the name without that washed up has been ozzy.

I prefer Ronnie James Dio to Ozzy actually. Even though he's 6'1", Heaven and Hell is a much better album than some of the later trash Ozzy put out. My favorite Black Sabbath song is still Iron Man, but meh. Also, the band Dio kicks ***. Download "Holy Diver" by them if you've never heard it.
