A War on Terror?Follow

#1 Oct 19 2006 at 2:56 AM Rating: Decent
Im no political geek, so i dont really follow all the propagander, but what i want to know is if anyone even knows what these "terrorists" want?
I am a classic white british citizen with no religion whatsover, so it would be very hard for me to comprehend the mind of a fanatic. What i do understand though is the willingness to die for a cause, I also understand the desire to live without fear and hurt. From this perspective i can say that these suicide types are not just lemmings waiting for there chance to die, they honestly belive that in there death they may do some good.
I can perfectly understand our desire to blow the hell out of saddam insane, because of the harm he did to his own people. What i dont know is what WE the western world did to create bin laden and his minions. nor do i understand our presence on foreign soil. we removed a tyrant from power, job done go home and let the red cross do its bit and go back if another tyrant rises to power. Personaly i just think that in todays world of "peace", this whole escapade is the only way for america to have a "state of iraq" to go with the other united states. And yes our lapdog of a prime minister, is just a lackey with no spine. If i had to label my politics then i s'pose im a liberal. However, its times like this i miss margret thatcher..she wouldnt have taken Bush's crap.
My thoughs...Let the arabs deal with the arabs, UNLESS they ask for help. and once the help is given, we should mind our own bloody business, cos i tell you what, if a foreign government came into MY land and started dictating policy, i would prolly be making a few bombs myself.

The War on Terror

Did it all really start with those planes in towers,
Or with the shady deals, of colonial empires?
Or maybe it’s the oil, that fuels our expansion,
Or was it the founding, of monotheist religion?

So now the enemy, has been identified,
Baptised, officialised, "Islamic Fascism",
It’s the new Nazism, the new Communism,
Or a mixture of those, with a twist of religion.

The War on Terror,
It’s such a misnomer,
The ******* child, of the colonisers,
The latest tool, legitimising our errors.

And we all wave the flag, to show which side we’re on,
And we all wave the gun, cos we’re the strongest ones,
And we all wave some book, cos we’re the chosen ones,
And we all wave goodbye, to peace and to reason.

And now the lines are drawn, they run from West to East,
They run from North to South, from Crescents to Crosses,
And now you have to chose which side you’re cheering for,
Manichean rhetoric, and the propaganda wars.

The War on Terror,
It’s such a misnomer,
The ******* child, of the colonisers,
The latest tool, legitimising our errors.

Of course this is a war, so everything’s allowed,
We torture in death camps, and call it “detention”,
When we do it abroad, we call it“redention”,
To make sure there isn't, the slightest confusion.

Between their acts and ours, there’s no correlation,
They are just the children, of all the devil’s spawn,
We defend, liberate, they kill and promote hate.
They subjugate their people, while we just “educate”.

The War on Terror,
It’s such a misnomer,
The ******* child, of the colonisers,
The latest tool, legitimising our errors.

It feels kinda funny, like I’ve seen it before,
These men sending orders, from the shelter of bunkers,
While the weak and the poor, and the vulnerable,
Follow the instructions, like homicidal cattle.

Ours are promised peace, while theirs get paradise,
Both concept seem to me, as safe as thinning ice,
Neither of which they’ll get to see in their lifetime,
Funny how Senator’s children don't fight and die.

The War on Terror,
It’s such a misnomer,
The ******* child, of the colonisers,
The latest tool, legitimising our errors.

War is terror using planes and cluster bombs,
Terror is war using people as human-bombs,
Terror on war, or the war on terror,
All I can see in this, is just human error…

Will it end with a treaty, or the annihilation,
Of all the citizens of a random nation,
Or will it end in those nice underground bunkers,
Beneath a dying planet, bleeding from our slaughters.
