Since Heroes was brought up in the Battlestar Galactica thread, I figured it deserved it's own thread. Anyhoo, post your thoughts/reviews on the show here!

I haven't watched tonight's episode yet (starts in about 30 mins) - I'll be back on here after I see the show.

Yata!!

Disposal gore cheerleader lady anoys me, as does chinese bedwetting teleport dude. Plus they put it in front of the good shows so I have to sit through it. Needless to say, I would not be unhappy if they replaced that show with another hour of Dr. Who instead!

While I like the characters, I think the aura of mystery and pacing of the show is dragging on and on...too much. For a show about heroes, I want to see some more action...just sayin'...

I'm gonna hang in there and keep watching it, but at it's current pace I imagine this whole first season will be just getting all these mutants together. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Best part of the show tonight for me was the MILF with the split personality kick the loan shark's thug's ***. That was fun.

Regarding the heroin-addicted artist - not sure what the show's message is here: Hey kids, get addicted to heroin and you'll be able to paint the future!Smiley: tongue

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be Heroes, just for one day

And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that

Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time,
just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What d'you say?

I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing,
nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever
Oh we can be Heroes,
just for one day

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day

I'm really digging the show. I don't mind the drawn out part - for me it just seems to add to the suspense.

Like, just who the hell is this Sylar guy, anyway??

I'm really enjoying Heroes so far, my only gripe is the hamfisted way the writers are making the point of "Everything is connected." Especially with that wierd S symbol thing, The explanation of that thing better be legendary. There are smaller syncronicities that are kinda neat tho, like Hiro's friend downloading the sex tape that the split-personality woman was forced to make (while she was her alter ego apparently)

I've got high hopes for the show. I'll keep watching until someone hands out some matching costumes... that would kill it for me.

It was that exact scene that convinced me not to waste time on another episode of that show. I mean really, she drops her ring in and instead of turning off the garburator she just sticks her hand in. Super regenerative powers aside, that was retarded. I don't even know how she managed to hold it when bringing it out since she only had 2 fingers.

Stupid, stupid show.

My favorite was future-urban-samurai Hiro.

Come on, healing factor chick opened up in the morgue was cool. Unfortunatly, the rest of the episode wasn't very cool.

Well, until the chick with the super power of being crazy started stripping at the end.

Yeah, mine too. I would surmise that as his powers progress he will do alot more than try to cheat at a vegas casino.

Just adding to the new crap fade type of prime time series... Every network wants a Lost now. Pull story out of your ***, just toss a, "to be continued" on the end. Don't even have to finish your tale. Hero, Lost, Jerrychooo, whatever. You took my Star Trek you bastards, I'm coming for you! The Bell tolls for thee!

The company that makes In-Sink-Erator garbage disposers is suing NBC, claiming that an episode of the new show "Heroes" makes the product look bad.

Appliance maker Emerson filed the lawsuit in a St. Louis federal court Monday, seeking to block rebroadcasts of the "Heroes" pilot. In the episode, a high-school cheerleader (Hayden Panettiere) who has the ability to withstand injury sticks her hand into an In-Sink-Erator while it's running, mangling her fingers (which return to normal within a few seconds).

Emerson's suit claims the scene "casts the disposer in an unsavory light, irreparably tarnishing the product" by suggesting that serious injuries will result "in the event consumers were to accidentally insert their hand into one."

The suit, however, is more about NBC's use of the In-Sink-Erator name than the content of the scene, the company says. "It's a trademark thing," spokesman Dan Callahan tells the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Smiley: laugh

Is the company suggesting otherwise? I'd think that the lesson there is "don't shove your hand into a running garbage disposal.

I should think it would look worse if she stuck her hand in there and it didn't get mangled.

The unauthorized use of the trademark, yeah, I get that.

Well, it *is* possible that by "irreparably tarnishing the product" they meant that it's a real ***** to get bloodstains off the blades.

Never seen the show but that line made me laugh. Who doesn't know a woman with crazy as her super power?

Well. The Japanese bedwetting guy gets a whole lot cooler down the line apparently. You just can't beat a timetraveling/freezing, teleporting, Ninja!...

Personally, I'm liking the pacing so far. And the last scene of this episode hints that it's not always going to stay that way. They're just setting stuff up. Clearly, they will all get together at some point and form some kind of "team" (although I don't think matching uniforms are part of the deal).

The scenes from next week look like things are going to heat up pretty quick as well (at least we finally get to see someone fly!).

This show screams cancellation at me. The entire drawn out process of it all and the skipping between characters is bound to drive viewers off. Unless it does heat up quicker, I taste failure for this one.
The hinting mysterious nature of everything reminds me a bit of Dark Angel - anyone else a DA fan? Jessica Alba in leather... how did that show manage to get cancelled anyway?

I like the concept, but after five episodes very little seems to have happened. With Lost, I felt like something was actually accomplished every episode. With Heroes, it's just getting... meh.

And I'm getting fairly sick of watching the family life of the cop guy. I'm supposed to care about this guy's relationship... why?

Word.

I watched it just to give it another shot. It took one entire 5 minute segment for Hiro to talk to the flying congressman and absolutely nothing happened. WoW, that is some f'ucking good television there!

I'm still liking it. I think the thing I like about it most is that it's not handing us all the info at first. Either that, or I'm just too stupid to see it, heh.

Yeah, it's weird. But I like weird. Hell, Tank Girl is one of my favorite movies.

I'm considering just holding off on watching it and simply downloading the entire season via BitTorrent later on. I mean, I'm sure that cool stuff is gonna happen, but I'm just sick of waiting a week at a time only to see a picture painted. Whoop-dee-freaking-doo.
