Pink, yellow, blue or regular diamond? I'm sure its beautiful. Platinum or Gold? Did you "know" he was going to propose Saturday or was it totally surprising (in the context you didnt know when for sure he was going to)?
The diamond is round, in an old-school art deco antique setting in either white gold/platinum (can't tell) and with a yellow gold band. It's very pretty and very sparkly, and a good size for my hand. The girls that told our waitress about it said that "that guy just proposed-and with the most gorgeous ring!" I like the fact that it's not the usual cup of tea, and that it won't snag my clothes or turn around. I'm not one of those girls that has to heft a large egg on my finger-I'll be doing laundry with this ring on, thankyouverymuch.

As for the proposal-we had discussed it, but for some reason I thought it would be on one of the Holidays. I hardly ever paint my fingernails, though, and I did so this weekend just on a lark.

I'll give you a few weeks/months to figure out the answeres to the next set of questions.

Traditional wedding?
Chicago or back in DC?
Joph Jr ring bearer or groomsman or neither?
Honeymoon?
In game wedding for the rest of us 'tards to attend?
Gah!

Then off to the city proper where we had tickets for an architectural boat cruise along the Chicago River. Although it got cold at times, we had access to hot chocolate and coffee and learned a bajillion tidbits of trivia, most of which I've forgotten. And I got to say "***** you, St. Louis!" when the guide explained how early city engineers reversed the flow of the Chicago River so that, instead of flowing into Lake Michigan, it would now carry the city's human waste into the Mississippi.
Did this happen to be the Wendella tour? Did you get to hear the explanation of the shape of the Smurfit-Stone building?

I'm not sure which it was. I'd have to consult my ticket. But no Smurfit-Stone explanation. I don't think it's along the Chicago river route (at least I didn't see it). We'll have to wait for the lake tour.

No, but we did hear all about the proclamation or whatever they passed exonerating the cow that supposedly started the Great Fire.

It was important to get that business off the city council docket so they could clear way for fois gras legislation.

That's right, I took the longer tour that went down the river and out on the lake.

Any sightings of Vincent the suit guy? That guy is really strange. Being a typical southerner, I will and do talk to anyone I see. Had about a 5 minute conversation with the suit guy that can only be described as interesting.

I figure we'll just move to a state that supports common law marriage and cohabitate until its official.

I haven't run this by her yet.

We were there on Sunday when we were looking for a temporary sizer so Flea could wear her ring without wrapping the band like a highschool girl. They have some neat stuff there and steamcleaned Flea's ring for her.

If you touched any of the jewelry you probably have Pikko cooties on you. I was in charge of all the jewelry that goes to a new store. If you ever have questions about pearls or items they have, I could probably help, since I maintained their items db too.
