Scares because it is hard to use or expensive? Expensive? get an older version, it can be as little as 25% of the price of a new version. Hard to use? You only need to set up the hot bar and never remember a code after that.
Meh, I have a way older version. I'd like to have the new one though. Its just pricey.

2002 version was the last time they made any big changes I believe. Every version since is just an attempt to drain the big companies that always buy the newest version. That said 2006 does have a few nice bells and whistles.

Last time I used AutoCad was in highschool over 10 years ago. Back when I wanted to be teh l33t draft0rz.
