Everyone has the same news story. No details beyond "small plane hits building"
The Media wrote:
A small plane crashed into a high-rise on Manhattan's Upper East Side, setting off a raging fire that sent a pillar of gray smoke over the city, police said Wednesday. There was no immediate word on any deaths or injuries.

It was not immediately known if it was terrorism.

Flames could be seen shooting from windows on two upper floors of the 50-story building, near the East River. Burning debris fell from the tower, and a column of gray smoke rose over the city.

Fire Department spokeswoman Emily Rahimi said the aircraft struck struck the 20th floor of a building on East 72nd Street.

Before September 11th 2001, a story like this would be like reporting an accident on the highway, but now every little thing gets a red terrorism flag...

Proably just some drunk pilot that passed out or a sober one that lost control.

Unless someone can prove otherwise, I say it was a drone piloted by Karl Rove to draw attention to security this election. And unless you have incontrovertible proof that it couldn't have been orchestrated by Karl Rove, I'll brook no argument from any of you!

This is why I'm not impressed by "witnesses" who say they're sure they saw a missile, not a jetliner, hit the Pentagon.

Yeah. I watched that "Path to 9/11" thing. Ignoring the overdramatizations in the thing, one of the bits that was interesting was that they had some news person who'd called in their station after hearing the first plane hit the WTC on 9/11. I emphasis that word because by the reporters account, he did not see it. But he called it in and knowing no other reports told them it sounded like a missile or a bomb had gone off.

Of course, he was clearly wrong since we have footage of the first plane hitting the building, but this sort of early (wrong) speculation is what typically drives the conspiracy theorists. People today will still insist that there were reports of a missile hitting the WTC, that it must have happened but was covered up....

Heh. And don't get me started on the pentagon. :)

Christine Monaco, a New York spokeswoman for FBI, said there was no indication of terrorism in the crash, but that officials "have been sent to the scene as a routine." FAA spokesman Jim Peters said all three New York City-area airports are operating normally.

"The initial indication is that there is a terrible accident," said Department of Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke.

Update!
Quote:

The FBI and the Homeland Security Department said there was no evidence it was a terrorist attack. "The initial indication is that there is a terrible accident," Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke said. Nevertheless, fighter jets were sent aloft over U.S. cities as a precaution, the Pentagon said.

The plane hit the 20th floor of the Belaire — a tower overlooking the East River, about five miles from the World Trade Center — on a hazy, cloudy afternoon with a loud bang, touching off a raging fire that cast a pillar of black smoke over the city and sent flames shooting from four windows on two adjoining floors.

Firefighters shot water streams of water at the flames from the floors below and put the blaze out in less than an hour.

Police said two people were killed, but they did not say whether they died aboard the plane or on the ground.

Meh, it made me laugh the other day when Mr.Katie was talking about making a bumper sticker out of it. Then again, I'm easily amused.

I dont think Kim ***** NDAss would actually use any weapons he creates, but I think he's going to toe that line.

The idea of a "cold war" is that no one goes in with guns blazing. Namely because then we become a glass parking lot as well.

Even if North Korea's own fledgling nuclear weapons program wasn't a deterrent, they happen to be allied with a large nation directly to the north which *is* armed with ICBMs and wouldn't be thrilled to have us blowing off warheads right off their border.

Aside from that and ignoring the nuclear aspect, China has another good reason to not want to see us invading N. Korea -- they don't want millions of starving refugees streaming northward.
