So the girlfriend was looking at an Ipod Nano. She had settled on the Silver 1gig as a treat for her upcoming birthday but 'really wanted' the Green 4 gig. So I decided to suprise her and I paid the difference and got her the 4 gig green ipod from applestore.ca as part of her gift(s).

I paid express shipping so it would get here on time. Everything looked good.

Then all of a sudden the buzzer system for our apartment block stopped working, so if the person showed up they have no way of getting a hold of me or getting in the building. So I called Fedex and explained my problem and asked if they could just hold it at the depot for me to pick up, unfortunately they had to try 3 times. So I enquired if I could have them phone before hand so i could meet them at front. They said it wouldn't be a problem.

Well it's Tuesday and I never got a call (turns out calling beforehand is a problem and now I have to wait for 3 attempts before I can pick it up).

Keep making a fuss over it. I have found that some people at FedEx need a brick to the head while others are willing to listen and actually do something about it.

Keep talking to people until you can find someone that will say they'll have it at the depot for you to pick up the next day. If it's on the truck it's not likely you'll get it until tomorow.

Ya Fed Ex is a pain. They rutinely come to my work site to deliver packages shipped Overnight, which are supposed to be delivered before 9AM, and arrive before 7AM when the buildings haven't opened yet, so then can just put a delivery attempt sticker on the door. They know full well they can't make a delivery at that time, but it seems that after the first attempt they have until 11AM to make another attempt.

Did you have her draw a robot face on it first?

You should be able to call and change the delivery to your work.
