Ok, this is driving me crazy. Somewhere outside my appartment, potentially up on the floor above me with a window open, potentially outside somewhere, and potentially in the electrical closet on the exterior wall next to my window, there is a beeping. It beeps in pairs of three, with a 1 second pause in between the three beeps. so I hear <beep> <beep> <beep> then silence on a random duration, from 30 seconds appart, to around 3 minutes. I don't think it is coming from the electricall closet. I know it isn't in my appartment. The appartment up above me just had the tenant move out, so it is unocupied, open, and has the windows open, but there shouldn't be anything in there. I also don't think it is coming from the electrical closet.

Anyone have any ideas on what this might be an alarm for? Am I going to die from this alarm? Will it cause me to knowingly kill others? Do I like pie?

On a completly unrelated note, my giant Molly fish just had a world breaking litter of fishies. If anyone has a fish tank and needs mollies, i now have iterally 45 baby mollies to get rid of from a single molly.

I know that most smoke alarms beep once occasionally before they die. Do carbon monoxide detectors by chance beep three?

One of my kids' toys beeps sporadically like that. He put it in the linen closet one time and I almost went insane trying to find the source of that beeping.

One of the few times that I wished I would drink alcohol.

If your apartment complex has smoke alarm sysytems installed it could possibly be that a battery in that smoke alarm is weaken making the device beep to alert that it needs changing or if there is a microwave in there it may be that who ever last used it forgot to set it back to normal.

Yeah, probably a smoke alarm with a low battery.

You think that's bad? I got woke up about an hour ago (2am) by someone's car horn going off. Not a car alarm, the horn. For like 10 minutes straight. I finally got up and got some shoes and a sweatshirt on to go outside and check it out, you know, to see if someone had a double-tap to the head with a silencer or something. Just as I walked out the front door I narrowed the guilty vehicle down to one of about a dozen when it petered out and stopped.

I've been trying to get back to sleep since.

Also, imagine my chagrin when I got back inside and realized even though I managed to put on a sweatshirt and shoes I had forgotten pants.

The digital display on my range beeps if it detects an error or has a short. Likewise for an electronic thermostat (assuming you have temp control in your apartment).

So, in an empty apartment, so far it could be the fridge, range, thermostat, smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector.

Mollies, Molly Fish

The molly is a tropical fish that prefers a little salt in their water. A teaspoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons of water will go a long way in helping them. This is a very attractive tropical fish that comes in many different colors such as orange, green and black. Some of the more popular varieties include the sailfin, balloon and the dalmation.

This is a livebearing tropical fish that can be fairly easy to breed. For many aquarists the biggest problem is not getting them to breed but stopping them from breeding. If left in a tank with other adult fish, the baby mollies will get eaten.

Mollies will eat flakes, frozen, freeze dried and definitely live foods.
Seems like a logical solution to me.

Turns out it was actually a giant killer robot orangutan with a grudge against humanity for failing to provide it with opposable thumbs. It killed me. But I got better.

Actually I have no idea what it was, but it stopped finally about 2am. So that was good.

We gave all our molly babies to the local pet store. Then we bought some new fish at the store and one of them KILLED my mommy molly!!! :( They weren't even aggressive fish..but they bit her fins or something and she probably died from the stress. I was so sad.
