That is the number of registered users on Allakhazam. The number of posts is at 6,793,411 this leaves an average of about 7 posts per account on here.

With alot of people breaking the 10,000 post mark and rarely ever seeing an account with only 7 posts or less, this makes me wonder how many socks are registered accounts on here?

Saying that each registered account has an average of 1,000 posts this leaves 6,793 accounts to the ratio of posts, leaving us with 921,358 sock puppets, hell no wonder so many idiots have sage status...

I imagine that the great bulk of those are people who have never posted because they just don't use the forums. Folks who are just searching quests or items or beasties or whatever. Heck, you probably even have a lot of never-posted premium accounts from guys who just want to see the spell lists without being offered a Russian bride.

A lot of registered users haven't posted since they created their account. They register to read whatever game information that can't be read without an account here.

Edit: Damn it, Jophiel.

Another reason not to renew premium!

Or another reason to start using FireFox with Adblock...

/nod

I know it's hard to believe, but once apon a time there was a poster named "KakarSmakar" who had less than 200 posts prior to the UBB move. At that time, this naive little fUcker rarely posted in the OOT section, and the large bulk of his 200 posts were strictly in the EQ section either offering advice or asking for it regarding *gasp* gaming.

Then, emboldened by a roaming OOT'er who was recruiting cannon fodder he began posting in that forum as well.

I have several buddies who used to game in either EQ or WoW that have accounts that they used strictly for looking up game info and I'd be flabberghasted if any of them had over 100 posts.

1000 posts per registered user? For an average, that seems a bit high. As for socks, if rating-socks is what you're referring to, you need 15(?) posts to become scholar and rate. Many of them are probably people who register, make 1 post, and then never come back.

ATFY, as the count of users includes all of the banned ones, and there's a fair number of them (all of the recent attempts to re-register by people like Godraiden and Hitler's "grandchild", for example, as well as currency sellers for assorted games).

These accounts don't make up the majority of the user count, by any stretch of the imagination, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's over 1% of the user count.

You had to edit twice to say "amen"?

You must be a big hit at revivals.

My OCD kicked in when I realized I could use the quote markup, and then again when I realized I had forgotten to assign a name to the quote. =P Hallelujah!

Just goes to show how little I post around here.

Come to think of it, Russian brides aren't in such high demand these days.

WTB x20 Russian Brds. Tell w/offers plzkthx.

In all seriousness, Allakhazam offers an unparalleled look at universe-wide market trends. That's all I need to warrant the cost of a premium subscription.

I have a few friends who registered a long time ago, just to use info and whatnot. me? I just signed up the other day to finally start posting, I got bored with just reading.

So count this as my introducing myself :)

That's exactly how I responded.

The only method I can figure to estimate the duration of residency for any particular user is to look at that user's ID. Either that or I'm so despicably stupid that I've been glossing over the "Registered Since" field for years.

810 users with over 1000 posts is certainly a fantastic plateau for any community. Then again, how many threads around here exist for latent postcount++ purposes?

You kids are fun! I can't believe it's been this long since I last posted. Smiley: grin

You can see the initial post, but there was no registered on date for the majority of the users, so it's difficult to tell when the account was created if it wasn't a posting account. That is further complicated by the whole UBB import issue.

Enlightening (and comforting), thank you.

I suppose it would be probable that Illia specified epoch table entries (directly or indirectly), were it to be necessary for one to determine his or her date of registration.

The level of integration since its earliest iteration is almost overwhelming. This is certainly a network to be proud of.
