I got to met Elmo and Kevin Clash, who was at the Baltimore Book Festival to give a talk about his new book My Life as a Furry Red Monster: What Being Elmo Has Taught Me About Life, Love and Laughing Out Loud.

My daughter and grandchildren and I met up, after he had given the talk. Kevin Clash was still signing copies of the book, when we got there, so we stood in line to meet him. Unfortunately they had sold out the book, by then and when I check the few book dealers tents I knew might have it quickly, while they stay in the line, I had no luck finding a copy.

After what seem like forever, (but faster then this page took to load) we got to the front of the line. Elmo first hugged and kiss my grand daughter and grandson and then we all gather together for them to take photo's of us with Elmo. They will be email to my daughter and I plan to post them once I am sent the files.

To top everything off, as we started to leave, I said something about being able to live the rest of my life happy, now that I've met Elmo. Elmo then gave me a Kiss.

Sure he is a puppet, but he also has been a large part of my children and grand children's lives and I've sent many a morning watching him on TV or reading books to them, sharing Elmo's perky outlook to life.

Somewhere inside of all of us is a kid that is thrilled at this kind of stuff. I never knew of Elmo until I was an adult. I was a Grover fan.

You're just jealous that you didn't get a hug from Elmo, so here.

Hear hear, I think we must have been the only two on the planet. When I was a kid, you could get merchandise for most of the other characters, but i've never seen a Grover stuffed animal.

Me neither, but I had The Monster at the End of This Book. One of my favorites.

I was able to keep my granddaughter on my lap, while I read the book to her last time I was at their house. Since she been able to get around by herself, getting her to sit still, while being read too takes a very good book.

My son-in-laws mom always read that book to him and his brother as kids, so it's a favorite book of the whole family. As I also remember reading it to my 3 girls. Oscar was my favorite when Sesame Street started years ago. I must have been 10 or 11 at the time, but it was aunt approved for me and my little sister and brother.

I don't understand while I post more when flaring, but it isn't recommended without a good spell checker.

I beg to differ that would be you. But I am so glad you let me know all that in advance. I really did need a new top for the GT instead of tix to UK for Christmas.
