i.e., Oktoberfest by the Bay!! Germans and beer. Lederhosen and Lowenbrau (or hopefully, even better beer...) What's not to like?

It's cheap and could be a fun time. We're thinking of going on Saturday, Oct. 14th.

Actually, I've never been to an Oktoberfest ever. So I figure now's a good a time as any and it's a good excuse for an Allah West Coast/Northern California boozefest. And it has Germans and beer.

Obviously, I'm in.

If this doesn't work for the majority of those who could actually attend a west coast boozefest, let's hear some other suggestions.

As an aside, next year I'm definitely heading to San Diego for ComicCon. Comics and beer! Heaven!

Germans and beer!

Looks like a good time. NJ has a few half *** attempts at Oktoberfest festivals. None worth mentioning. I've been celebrating at my house since the 16th and will continue right through to November.

You're in luck, Smogster. I'm off that day and it's my birthday. Now I just need to clear it with Mrs. Totem.

Alas, husband's on another 6 week deployment so no one to watch the kids if I went. But, I'm game for ComicCon next year. Born and raised in San Diego and ComicCon was a tradition to go, either because you are a fan of the comics or because you like to go make fun of such fans.

I'm game...any excuse to get drunk and have some schnitzengrüben.

I'll even buy die schwarze Schlange a beer for his birthday.

Outstanding, Totem!

What an awesome way to celebrate the T-meister's birthday. I'll be bringing my wife and some friends as well, so bring the wife and anyone else you want. The more the merrier and all that.

Funny thing, I drove through part of Wisconsin on my move across country. It really does smell like cheese there. Pretty country, but man, that was quite the cheesey smell!

Neither is my wife, but she said she's in if they got schnapps or whatever German type alcohol is available other than beer. If not, she can be designated driver!

So you don't even like San Francisco? If so, that's a shame, as there's so much to do and enjoy out here. I'm glad to be back.

Bummer, Thumbelyna! Yeah, if nobody can make it up to this Oktoberfest, San Diego's ComicCon is the place to be next summer. That might be more motivating for folks to come out to California. I'm definitely going to go next summer. It's been quite a few years since I've been in SD - I was stationed on North Island/Coronado while in the navy.

Bloodewolfex, sounds good! Where are you in California?

Yo Aadyn! you still live in the bay area? Germans and beer!!! **Oops, just saw your post - sorry to hear it - well, us locals can still do a night out at some point, no worries!

Gitslayer and Nephy would be most welcome to join us if they can make it up to the bay area.

Wait - Samira!! Aren't you in California as well?

Apologies if I'm forgetting other Californians, it's been a while.

WARNING NWS!!

Also, apologies to the freaky deaky of you, since we just missed the
Folsom Street Fair.

No can do. I would but that is the weekend of the infamous Bus trip. I will be getting fuuuuuuuucked up. A friend of mine, every year for her birthday (nine years running now), charters a bus. Starting sometime Saturady afternoon it goes around the area doing a front door pick up of everyone invited. While it travels about picking everyone up those allready on board commences teh drinking. By the time we get to Yamashiros in Hollywood for dinner most of us can't see straight. After that it is dancing, somewhere I can't remember the location this year and then about 4 or 5ish AM a drop off at home. So, as you can see, I got better things to do.

Totem and Bloodewolfex, you guys still interested in going on Saturday, the 14th? Anyone else in the SF Bay area that are interested are welcome.

We're still planning to go. Anyhoo, if you are still planning to go, let's try to figure what time to go and meet up. I was tentatively thinking something like 2pm or 3pm or later...

Please to let me know your thoughts...schnell! Smiley: motz

If you can't make it, it's cool, more hefeweizen(?) for me! Smiley: boozing
