The best part is when you start coughing up bitter, viscous material sloughed off from your lungs and throat.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I've started that. Big fun.

I *am* enjoying the fact that my mouth and throat don't feel so dry all the time anymore.

I was at the point where I hated smoking, and only did it when the craving/habit got the best of me. The habit was stronger than the cravings, though - so I was smoking way too much. (and hating/cussing myself the whole time)

I'm glad I'm doing this though. After just one week I already feel so much better.

I believe I need to quit online gaming before I can quit smoking. It is just way too easy to light up while playing, yet so hard not to.

The most irritating part of my post-smoking cough was that I *didn't* expel any lung evil but rather I just had this horrible dry cough where I felt as if my chest was stuffed full of nettles. At least if I was hacking up goo, I'd have felt productive.

Been over a year and a half now since I quit. Strangely enough, late last night I had a craving again. Nothing to make me sneak out to the gas station but I could imagine the smell and taste of it.

I'm telling you people, there is just no compelling reason to quit smoking if you roll your own. There are, however, a number of valid reasons why you should twist your own smokes:

1)It costs less than two dollars for the equivalent of two packs of manufactured cigs.

2)Often, I don't even smoke a whole cigarette at one time, and when you set them down, they just put themselves out due to a lack of nasty chemicals which cause your twentieth century smokes to quickly turn to ash, neccessitating you light another.

3)The cravings are way more subdued, and it's not uncommon for me to just forget to smoke for a day or two.

4)You will meet interesting people since you are basically letting it be known that you smoke pot, too. You see, the methodology of rolling a cigarette and rolling a joint are virtually identical, except for the tobacco comes all broken up.

5)It's like being a cowboy, but less gay.

That's five good reasons to roll your own smokes, and I didn't even mention the increased finger dexterity, rawr.

I can't wait to start coughing that sh*t up.. then I'll know some progress is being made.

one thing I remember from quitting before was the mucus and stuff in my nose was more moist and liquidy, rather than dry and boogery.

loevely.

oh, there's that warm feeling again!!

I know the cravings never go away totally. That's why I've quit and started back so many times. Smiley: mad

Just hoping that this is the time that sticks.

Sad but true. I quit (for the second time) about 6 years ago, and I still to this day occasionally get cravings.

The good news is that it gets A LOT easier the longer you can go without smoking. It's almost effortless after a while. But it never goes away entirely.
