Ok, so I was laying there in my chair half asleep when in my half stupor I hear Bill O'Rielly ask Bill Maher a completely stupid and irrelevant question to a statement BM made.

I believe this is how it went.

BM: Religion is a horrible thing for the world to be involved with.

BO: So Mother Theresa and Red Cross are big evils in this world?

...

What?

What part of the transition did I miss where Bill Maher was saying that Mother Theresa and the Red Cross was some egotistical gun totting crack pot?

But then it started going even further.

BM: The majority of Americans Christians don't act like Christians...

BO: So you're saying that the MAJORITY of American Christians don't -actually- act like Christians!?

BM: Well most of America's Christians are the buffet type. They pick and chose from the various religions they like.

BO: But you're saying that the majority of Americans Christians, out of 350,000, don't actually act like Christians at all!?

BM: They really should call themselves Christ-likeness so they'd actually act more like their examples of Christianity.

Bill Maher, you should have said what was on your mind man. Don't be a ***** and hold back because you're afraid of offending that particular group.

Bill, you should have said

BM: "Religion is a horrible thing for the world to be involved with"

BO: "So Mother Theresa and the Red Cross are big evils in this world?"

BM: "Well, if they went around with a bigoted view based on hatred for certain individuals based purely on race, class, sexual preference and protested the very choices we as humans have the natural born right to, then they should be classified as a problem.

But since I doubt very highly that both of those two actually went around and started segregating who'd receive their help, they aren't."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BM: "Yes, most Christians rarely hold to their convictions or ideology unless there basically is a physical reward for their actions.

"For the most part, Christians are egotistical self serving whackos who go out and protest the very happiness of others if it interferes with their pick and choose hate agenda."

Now normally I don't involve myself with political issues with others because that can create conflict and really, I prefer to be more relaxed, and normally I have no problems with Bill O'Rielly. But that was too stupid for me to pass up.

Bill Maher was correct; religion is a horrible thing for the world to be involved with.

Religion is something that should be a personal pursuit of individual’s unique understandings of their version of their reality. Nobody should be forced/killed/or hurt in the name of conversion of another’s views.

I'd get all into this, but I just woke up.

Ask yourself:

  • Have I ever posted in this forum before?
  • Have I ever created a thread in this forum before?
  • Am I posting something anyone, other than myself, gives a **** about?
  • Does anyone in this forum even know who I am?
  • Am I worthy of the oxygen I breath?
  • Should I continue to live when there are so, so many other people in the world, like an illiterate African child afflicted with AIDS since birth, who can contribute much more to the world?

  • If you answered 'no' to any of these questions, and I mean ANY of these questions, then you should place your head in a bus station toilet and inhale until you can't.
