Well, if alot of you are like me, you have at least one high end, very noisy computer (or more). I happen to maintain 2 of them myself in close proximity, and they are very very loud. Or should I say were...

I installed a water cooling kit on the main PC, and left the other one as is. I was completly stunned by the results. Before, I was getting temperatures of around 120 degrees f under heavy gaming loads and you could hear the computer from 3 rooms away easily. Now, I am stable at an average of 104 degrees f, and I can't even hear the computer.

Now people think Water + computer = scary and bad" and I was in that camp too, but if i had known how easy and pain free the install was, I ould have literally done this years ago. I used a system made by Koolance called the aquian 510. http://www.koolance.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=28_48&products_id=244 but there are others out there.

It was literally as simple as ******** in a fan, installing a CPU heat sync, Cutting 2 hose lengths, ******** them on to the fittings, plugging in the wireing, mounting one 3 1/2 box, and filling the reservoir. Assuming you can pour water into a flower vase, you can put this together safely and without very much time.

I have a second kit and another Case on the way for the secondary machine right now.

I want a beer cooled computer. I think it would be more effective cooling and sound dampening. Plus, it would smell like my childhood.

I know a few people who have got water cooling for their computer and they all say its great. Some can get a little pricey but they said its worth it and can keep their computer going for much longer.

Can I get a Guiness dispensing, Guiness cooled PC setup?

I'm sold either way, but talk about icing on the cake.

Allakhazam must have Windows 64 bit then. Standard windows wont parse more than 3.3GB ram. It's annoying. and 64 bit has issues with gameing. I've got the 7950 cards with the dual core video processor, 512mb ram, Quad SLI rocks. It is kind of overkill, but still, it rocks.

Nothing is overkill. If anything, the current technology isn't enough to run your games the way you want them.

You paid $250 so that your computer ran quieter?
#18 Sep 26 2006 at 9:10 AM Rating: Default
nice, the H2O cooling is all that, but darn pricy for the average person. if i were overclocking then yup, id go with H2O cooling without a doubt.

my 2 game boxes are rather quiet, took the steps to get quiet fans and cases.

i can hear my bigger box in the room im playing in, but i sit like 12in from it so i should hear it, but out side of the room cant hear it at all.

the temps id like to cut down a bit, but that is just the disapated heat as the game room is always 10-30F hotter then the rest of the house as a result of the comps.

I don't care. I want you to admit that you're a dirty little cOckgobbler who does'nt know how to properly abbreviate advertisement. If cOckgobbler seems over the top to you, I will accept in its place the originally proposed fUcking ******.

I don't think it's his selfconfidence that's going up...

Jeez Sing, that hurt. To make it up to me, you could start capitalizing a letter or two, and you could admit you're a fUcking ******.
