Well, if alot of you are like me, you have at least one high end, very noisy computer (or more). I happen to maintain 2 of them myself in close proximity, and they are very very loud. Or should I say were...
I installed a water cooling kit on the main PC, and left the other one as is. I was completly stunned by the results. Before, I was getting temperatures of around 120 degrees f under heavy gaming loads and you could hear the computer from 3 rooms away easily. Now, I am stable at an average of 104 degrees f, and I can't even hear the computer.
Now people think Water + computer = scary and bad" and I was in that camp too, but if i had known how easy and pain free the install was, I ould have literally done this years ago. I used a system made by Koolance called the aquian 510. http://www.koolance.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=28_48&products_id=244 but there are others out there.
It was literally as simple as ******** in a fan, installing a CPU heat sync, Cutting 2 hose lengths, ******** them on to the fittings, plugging in the wireing, mounting one 3 1/2 box, and filling the reservoir. Assuming you can pour water into a flower vase, you can put this together safely and without very much time.
I have a second kit and another Case on the way for the secondary machine right now.
