In defense of Plaxico BurressFollow

I'm watching the Giants get raped by Seattle.

Eli Manning just threw a perfect pass to Plaxico Burress. The ball bounced off of Burress' hands and into the arms of a Seattle defender for an interception.

The announcers immediately blamed Plaxico for the interception. Everything else Manning has thrown today has been too low, too high, and most of all, behind the intended receiver. Plaxico was probably just in a state of shock and disbelief that the ball was actually where it was supposed to be. Now, if Manning throws him another ball where its supposed to be, and Plaxico muffs it, he can take the heat, but you can't blame him for being surprised on that first one.

What about the one that was thrown perfectly? He did in fact catch it, but funbled it shortly there after.

Yeah, that happened shortly after I posted. I believe I covered the possibility of just such an event when I wrote:

29 Seconds left in the game. Giants are down by 11 and the Seahawks are about to punt.

There's still hope!!!!

Okay... not really, but at least the Jints made a nice comeback so that when the descendants of today's Giants fans look back on this game in a hundred years it won't appear nearly as embarassing as it really was.

RACK the 'Hawks! This is gonna be their year-- 4 WRs, the best RB in the game, and the QB with the best completion rate in the game? Craziness. I still can't believe the Patsies let Branch go.

Branch was their f'in SUPERBOWL MVP in 2005, and they let him go!? I mean seriously!? Cudos to the Hawks for getting him. They will in fact be unstoppable.

Being a Washingtonian all my life, I must root for the Seahawks, and I have no problem doing it cause they rock my socks off.

As a Pats fan, I'm happy that they let Branch go. He was milking that Superbowl MVP for more than it was worth. He's a fine receiver, and the Pats need to replace him and Givens (as proven by tonight's game). But he's never had a 1,000 yard season, he's not a franchise player, he's not a top-tier receiver, yet he wanted to be paid like one.

I'm glad they shipped him off, and getting a 1st round pick is more than he was worth.

Branch wouldn't have been enough for the Pats to beat the Broncos. Smiley: lol

And Plex is a pin-headed doofus. Just a Steelers castaway.

Ummm because its Eli Manning, you know Payton Manning's brother! He is obviously infaulable and a great quarterback.

Eagles had a great 1st half as usual and then kinda feel apart in the 2nd. Giants lost and I am so happy. It was tough switching stations between Eagles and Giants so that I could laugh at another hack NY team.

I watched the fourth worst team in the NFL lose to the fifth worst team in the NFL yesterday. It was a sad day for me, but I am glutton for punishment being a 22 year fan of the Lions.

The teams worse than the Lions being 30. Titans 31. Texans 32. Raiders

Burress just looks good to Giant fans because they forgot what a real star wideout should play like. Can anyone remember the last star Wide receiver the Giants had? No, Amani Toomer used to be good, but was never a star.

Every time an athlete makes a comment after a frustrating game that can be construed as an attack on the coach, and the media goes into a frenzy blowing it completely out of proportion, I have to ****.

Needless to say, after Shockey's comments yesterday, I've had to **** a lot.

After watching Chris Simms go out for the season, I am calling this a rebuilding year for the Bucs. Getting your spleen removed is good fun I guess :/ I hope Gradkowski can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

The Defence looked so solid for the second half. It was what it used to be a few years ago.

Go Indy! Dungy is my hero, he built this team, Gruden just reaped the benefits of the Super Bowl :(

I don't know, but they should have named thier team Byeweek.

I messed up as well. I benched Dallas Clark at last minute to start Marcus Pollard. Clark caught a TD, Pollard got 1 tackle on speical teams...
