The Census Bureau, the main collector of information about Americans, lost 672 computers. Of those, 246 contained some personal data, the department said in a statement. However, no personal information from any of the missing computers has been known to have been improperly used, the department said.

How the hell do you "lose" that many computers? Do they store them outside on the lawn with "free for the taking" signs for ****'s sake?

Sure, I could believe that happening with five, or ten, or even 20 or something, but come on!

They were on a shipment to the red zone and the driver mysteriously vanished. It is currently unknown whether the machines were sucked into a transdimentional vortex or confiscated by aliens. What we do know is we no longer have them. Ok, ok. I'll tell the truth. We dumped them on the side of the road and said we 'lost' them because we got tired of using 486s.
