Indeed, our State Department told Pakistan we'd bomb them back into the Stone Age if they didn't help us.

I don't think Iran's leadership is made up of nobles and saints or anything, but at the same time I think a lot of Ahmandinnerjacket's "inflammatory" rhetoric is more about getting votes within his country than actually nuking Israel into oblivion.

I would be inclined to agree.

But I honestly do not see the difference in his remarks and Bush's Axis of Evil remark about Iran. They have good reason to not trust us and I see their point about having their nation talked down upon by a nation that is (in thier eyes) an openly hostile nuclear power. I'd be pretty annoyed if I were them.

plus,. if you've ever watched Middle-Eastern news, a good deal of their reports are Israeli bombardments of Palestinian neighborhood... with no accountablity from any other member of Security Council involving civilian deaths.

As far as they are concerned Israel is just as much an aggressor and terrorist state as anybody else. Just look at their treatment of Lebanon. I don;t blame them for denouncing the West as "Zionists", because we don't question Israel's treatment of the Arabs and Palestinians, because they are just more terrorist brown people.
