In this year's mid-terms, I predict that...
The Democrats will not gain control of either branch of Congress:17 (34.7%)
The Democrats will gain control of just the Senate:9 (18.4%)
The Democrats will gain control of just the House:3 (6.1%)
The Democrats will gain control of both:8 (16.3%)
Due to foreign nationality, complete ignorance of the world around me or retardation from drinking mercury polluted water, I can not answer but wanted to press a button anyway:12 (24.5%)
Total:49
Note that for the Democrats to win control of the Senate, they need 51 members as any 50/50 ties will be decided by Vice-President Cheney.

All choices are legally binding and will be monitored by the White House.

Being a fan of the national Peruvian soccer team, a Redskins fan and a Dem go hand-in-hand. You cheer, you believe, but ultimately, you aren't surprised when you get your *** kicked.

Until I hear the Dems come up with their own clear agenda of issues and focus on that instead of Bush, I'm assuming another election failure for them.

Not that I necessarily disagree with your assessment, but you make it sound as if we should be suprised you'd vote for the Pubbies holding control.

Since it's just a prediction, I think the Dems are gonna take control. Too much anti-Bush sentiment that keeps overflowing into those that have supported and/or continue to support him. Look at Lieberman. A strong candidate, but the Dems still jumped up and said "Nah, not left-wing enough". Democratic party has always stood for change, and I think that's what people want.

If it was a wish, though, I'd hope that somehow the Pubbies'll pull it out in the 4th quarter ;-)

QFT

I just don't see there being much change which is a shame because if the Dems control either the Senate or the House, they can at least rein him in a bit. My real concern is that if I am right, then Bush is going to see it as another "mandate" that what he is doing is right, and just continue to be a buffoon for the next two years.

I think we should open the vote to Venezuelans and Iranians, since we own the world and all.

Honestly, though, there was alot of momentum a couple of months ago, and a sweep seemed more than just possible, it seemed probable. I sort of agree that the Dems party-line of "at least we're not him" is rather weak, and as is usual in the past six years, they haven't done enough build upon their momentum. The five year anniversary of 9/11 didn't do anything good for Dems, either. Mid-terms are fun and sort of unpredictable, though, so I've stocked all up on popcorn.

EXACTLY what I thought.

But as per the topic, I voted Dem's winning the senate. I would not be suprised if they did, i just feel that that is going to be the best arena for them to compete in.

I'd be pretty suprised if the Democrats won in Colorado. It's a weird situation, the State seems like it's full of liberals but whenever an election comes around the pubbies generally come out on top.

On that note, I'm awaiting my "blue book" that they are supposed to be mailing out to all the voters describing most everything up for election. There's going to be a lot on this ballot, from what I hear.

You didn't put a "Republicans extend their lead in House and Senate, Janeane Garofalo puts gun to head and pulls the trigger" choice, so I went with the next closest thing.

Just to be fair, you're biasing the results against the Dems by how you structured your poll. Results may appear larger then they are...

There's people who get doctorates in sociology and how to conduct polls.

I'm not one of them.

Speaking of which. Haven't seen Smash lately. I was this close to having him be my liberal trigger puller.
