But seriously, on his forehead? Is he going to have your name spelled backward so he can actually read it in the mirror?

Or are you talking about the other head entirely? Would make more sense Smiley: sly

I told Flea that I was getting a tattoo across my chest of me grinning and giving two thumbs up. She seemed to think it was a pretty good idea.

My wife and I taked about tattoos, which is generally a conversation about the dumb things that people get put on their bodies. We agreed that many things are just silly or cliche.

Such as:

Dragons - especially on white guys
Chinese Text Symbols
Barbed wire, chains, fire
Ladies' lower back I'm-a-***** tattoos
Yin-yangs
Flags
Skulls for the sake of skulls
Barcodes
Anything that requires a methaphorical explanation
Letters accross the knuckles
Turning your belly button into something crass
Cartoon characters - This is like buying a yellow humvee. Look at my ink, I'm badass, but not really.

Half decent reasons:

Military - If you belong to a specific group
Religous purpose - Main reason for tattoos throughout history
Elvish wedding band - Neat idea, only ever saw one of these
Scar cover-up
Special/Important purpose or conviction

Essentially, about 95% of people who have ink, get it for the sake of getting it, which is all fine and dandy, but I think it's retarded. Get something unique for the love of Bob. Hell take Enigma for example. Sure he looks like hell, but at least his idea was unique, so points for that.

It's the Flash Art plague. Almost every shop you go in has walls lined with pre-made art that takes the thinking out of Tattoo's, removing the purpose other than getting "inked"...which isn't really a purpose. Retards just point and say "Stick It", because they think the 15 minutes they spent browsing the art is enough to make a permanent decision about something inked into their skin. I mean, power to them...that's what it's there for (to sucker dumb shits into spending their money quick)...but I personally think if you don't put any thought into it, make it original, and maybe even go as far as sitting down with the artist to pre-draw it so it's exactly what you want, there's no reason to get it.

I'm heading down to West Palm Beach in March of '07 for my brother-in-law's wedding, and my wife and I have every intention of taking a day trip to hit up Miami Ink for some new art. It's been about 5 years since my last piece...so I'm way overdue! I'll do something to indicate "Asylum" (...I'll have to get creative...), maybe it'll get onto the show ^^

Meh, my last two tattoos have had less to do with the aesthetics and meaning of the image and moreso to do with the sensation. It started when I got one between my shoulders right on my spine, and ever since then I just like the way a tattoo on my back feels while I'm getting it. Then again I've had piercings done that I've removed within a week, too, for the mere sake of the sensation. I'm a fUcking weirdo.

It just sounds to me that you like to get stuck with things.

It's not for him, it's for all the other ladies to see that he's taken...it'll have a barcode too, don't worry.

I wanted to get a tattoo once, but I never followed through with it. I change my mind too often. If I did now, it would be something campy and silly. What usually stops me is the thought of my children sponge-bathing me when I'm 97 and bedridden, trying to stretch my skin out to read my tattoo.

Unfortunately, he'd have to have some sort of either really strange reason for the tatoo, or a heart-touching story behind it. Like coming out of rehab and "Asylum" is the name of his 2 year old son, or something.

you think getting a tat because his internent forum buddies asked him to in our honor is not a strange reason?

Gosh, just think of the interesting new people it would draw to the forum!

Funny you should mention it. I've always talked about hitting the gym and getting a tattoo the day I get fit enough to not look like your typical leather vested biker guy. Smiley: sly

Not before I get my whole body lazered, though. That comes first. Smiley: banghead Body hair is teh yuck.
