Who can't agree with their reasoning?

"...Graphically, many MySpace pages look like a teenager's bedroom after a tornado--a swirl of clashing backgrounds, boxes stacked inside other boxes, massive photos, and sonic disturbance."

-I think baby vomit could also describe many of the page designs on MySpace

"Try loading a few of those pages at once and watch what happens to your CPU. Watch out for spyware, too, since it turns out that MySpace has become a popular distribution vector for drive-by downloads and other exploits. And in a place where "U are soooooooo hot!!!" passes for wit, MySpace isn't doing much to elevate the level of social discourse."

When I say the OP's name aloud, it sounds just like ****. There's a name for parts of speech which are spelled differently but sound the same, such as to, too and two, but I can't remember what it is. Onomatopoeia is when a word sounds like what it describes, and I guess that works for the OP, as well.

...how do you expect a website of concentrated emo to not be the worst site on the internet?

Or a first-year HTML project. Can't expect much more from a site where the style mods are injected into a profile field.

Anyone not into MySpace has never gotten laid as a result of having a profile. It works, and it's free; WTF else do you want?

I'm too busy being barefoot and pregnant to start a Myspace profile.

ok, i'm going to post on-topic here...I agree with their reasoning totally. Myspace is, IMO, one of, if not the, worst web site on the net. I don't get its purpose at all. I asked a friend who uses it alot. She said, so I can chat with my friends ans stuff. that...is a stupid answer. Why not just, o i dont know...call them, visit them, whatever. 99% of the people I know who use myspace have friends lists composed entirely of people they know in real life. I just don't get it. Its a gold mine for sexual predators. Why does it exist? give me one good answer...plz. (and dont say so you can keep in touch with friends when you move or something, the telephone, email, and instant messaging exist for a reason)

Call your friends? Phone bills cost per minute generally, Myspace is free.
Visit them? How bouts the ones that live far away?

Every site with ANY kind of chat system (including, you guessed it, Allakhazam) is a breeding ground (no pun intended) for sexual predators, INCLUDING governmental chat networks *gasp*!

I hate talking on the phone.
I check email sometimes, but not often enough.
Its an easy way to keep all your friends up to date with your life by writing something down one time, instead of rehashing again and again
You can opt not to *gasp* allow people you dont know on your firends list.
Your friends can create a group together, making plans for a national get together without spamming other forums they frequent *cough cough*

theres 5 valid reasons

The only reason I have been using myspace for is to keep in contact with my friends who I have lost contact with from high school or not have talked to for 5 years plus. Now here I am getting ready for a wedding and they show up out of the blue wanting to come.

That right there is very good for me. I personally don't like the site, but its the only way I have been able to find anyone from my hometown who was deployed or joined the military or whatnot.

Let's see; great place to get in touch with old friends, easy way to meet potential dating prospects without going to a pay site, quick way to communicate with friends, etc. Not everyone lives in an area where there are places to go to meet people of like age/interest, nor are many of us still in college (where you have to be practically autistic to not get a date). I've met, and dated three women in the last two months alone that I would have never met otherwise. The reason the first two didn't work out has absolutely no bearing on the way in which we met, and the third seems to be looking like a long-term thing. So, MySpace fan? Yeah, I'm going to have to say so.

You people ******** about sexual predators... What the fuck?? The entire internet is a playground for those people. MySpace isn't any more dangerous for potential victims than a thousand other sites. If you, as a parent, can't take care of your kids any better than that then you have a lot of other, more serious problems you need to look at first

All benefits aside, I will admit that your typical MySpace page looks like a circa 1998 GeoCities homepage only with annoying-*** MP3s blaring at you instead of annoying-*** MIDI files.
