After creating and supplying Target corp with 3 successful products, they decided that the products did so well that it would now be open for bid.
Not familiar with the process, Target contacted 10 companies, sent them samples of our product, and then held a 2hr bidding war.

We held onto to 2 of our products, but lost one to a supplier that bid at cost. Alot of times, suppliers will bid at cost to secure future appointments, knowing that any revenue would be incremental.

Crappy, but we were happy we maintained 2 of our products.

We then received word this year, that our buyer would be consolidating suppliers and we would no longer be providing those 2 products. WTF. They actually gave our product to a company that has no experience with the product....we own the market in every chain.

We don't own patents or have compyright insurance, as the products were considered private label.

I don't care what anyone says, Target is a crooked *** company that gets away with alot of shi't while the retarded media is too busy trying to demonize Wal-Mart.

The more you know...

Everytime I go to Target I feel like punching one of their helpful team members in the face. I can't decide if it's Target, North Carolina or America that lacks any concept of customer service. At any rate, I'd like to unleash the stingrays.

Target needs to start selling t-shirts that say "No I don't want to apply for a fUcking Target Visa card!" I can understand having all the checkout clerks ask if you want one, hell, I'll even say having a greeter ask that is ok, but when you have employees who's job is to wander the sales floors asking people to apply, that's absurd.

I know what you mean about Target, I work in another branch of retail and have found them to have some weird policies. One of our clients out sells their competitior in Target, so now the are denied end caps for 6 months, while their main competitor gets free endcaps and free ad space so that Target can equal out their sales volume.

Then we had another project for another client which had us installing special shelving. What do the stores start to do, throw the shelving out. Now the equipment was on a pallet clearly marked to hold and what it was for.

Then again a lot of retailers have their own little mindsets that take getting use to. Like in Wal-mart, you set an appointment to talk to a department manager, and they show up 2 hours later, "saying oh I forgot."

I've never had any issues with Target. Maybe I'm lucky, but the Target nearby is clean, friendly, has stuff in stock, and I am not hassled about opening up credit cards. Hella better than Walmart

Under capitalism, man exploits man. Under communism, it's just the opposite.

Shopping at Target is great, working with them is hell.

Wal-Mart is completely fair and honest with their suppliers. Sure, they have to respond to market pressures as well, but they have never pulled anything like this sh'it before.
