Jesu, the poster child for white trash births another waste of perfectly good stem cell research.

while I am happy you spelled Brittany the way it should properly be spelled, the singers name is a mangled mess and has no bearings of the beauty that is represented in said name.

There's more than one way to spell a name. Now we all know how you spell yours.

the name Brittany was not a popular name for girls until 18-20 years ago. It's from the area of Brittany, coastline of France (hence the correct spelling). It's only become insanely popular in the last decade. Makes for grocery shopping to be an experience. Any time I hear someone yelling that name I still jump and look around since any time growing up if it was yelled, I knew I was in a shitload of trouble. As for spelling of names blah blah blah. The original is the best and proper way and thats the story I am sticking with Smiley: tongue

That has always been one of my pet peeves, parents naming their children unusual names so their children will be "unique." I met a girl in college whose name was Mimette (she went by Mimi) and she told me that she absolutely hated her parents for naming her that.

But I LOVE it when celebrities name their kids those kinds of names.

And on behalf of the French nation, let me be the first to say that we are grateful for your campaign to correctly spell out this wonderful name.

Brittany is indeed a lovely place, and deserves to not be massacred by the legion of ignorant and lazy parents who couldn't spell shit if it hit them in the face.

Don't forget Moxie Crimefighter! (Whelp of either Penn or Teller, not sure which).

My wife was, until a few months ago, a Neonatal ICU nurse. From her files come the following names...

Darvon (yeah, after the drug I guess)
Placenta (because it sounds so pretty)
Ashole (pronounced Ash-olay)

Those are all I remember just now (haven't had my caffeine yet), but I'll speak to her later and see if she has anymore.

I think they were going for Tanisha. Tanisha was an ancient form of spearchucking that was heavily used by the Maasai tribe to combat an invasion of a rival group of nomads back in the early 70's. Some scholars have derived additional roots for Tanisha. The second most popular is a rough translation of a word in Mande, the language of the Bobo of western Burkina Faso. It means "one who will soon suck diCk for crack".
