Time to get arrested for felony child abuse!

You can watch the video. Here is the gist of it:
Quote:
An assistant youth football coach in California is facing felony child abuse charges after allegedly attacking a 13-year-old who put a late hit on his son. The violent incident was followed by a 20-minute brawl and a renewed debate over the role of parents in their child’s sporting events.

There was just a minute left in the game when Brian Wood, a 116 pound linebacker, made a late hit on a member of the opposing team. Despite the fact that the referee did call a penalty, the father of the boy who was hit late, Cory Petero, a 36-year-old man and also the assistant coach of the team, charged the field and tackled Wood.

Wood described the incident saying, “I got up to go to the huddle, and I was about to take off my helmet, had my straps off, and then he just came out of nowhere and hit me from behind and then he rushed me again, and my big brother came up and then there was just a big old brawl out there.”

A 20 minutes brawl, not caught on camera, following leaving Wood with sprained fingers, a sore shoulder, and lingering head aches. Petero now faces a charge of felony child abuse that could put him behind bars for six years.

Wood’s mother Denise Moreno said she hope Petero goes to jail for what he did. She said, “You see late calls called, yousee it all the time. That doesn't mean that people are out on the field beating each other up. It's just not right.”

A coaching expert agreed saying “I don't care what the frustration level was or what precipitated it. It's just not appropriate.”

Okay, so the kid was a punk who hit his son after the whistle. That's when you let the umpire do his job. It's not when you come flying out of the sidelines and tackle a 13-year old child. Does it really matter that much? WTF is up with these parents who are way over-involved?

The dad should of been flagged 15 yards for hitting like a girl and another 15 for running like a sissy when confronted by an adult.

Put your shoulder into it and drive through em!

no offense meant to the girlies or sissies

He deserved it from the guy's puss of a son, not from him. Whatever happened to letting them fight it out? I'm not absolving the punk who initiated it, but he's 13. An adult should know better.

After a 15 second commercial and a minute of talking, they show the hit like, 4 times in a row. Slow mo' even. Good job ABC!!!

Nevermind. Your link shows it like, 10 times in a row, heh.

Don't you think spooning with Jack Nicholson is a bit of a harsh penalty?
