Couric anchoring the CBS Evening News?
Will it be a success? Is it doomed to flop? Will people see her as a serious journalist or will they just be waiting for a "wardrobe malfunction?"

If I picked the news show she anchored for over another one it'd be because of the content. If I wanted to watch a news show because the news anchor is a female, I'd watch Naked News instead.

Basically. There hasn't been a sole female anchor for a major news show. So CBS is touting this as a big deal.
Like you, who I watch depends on content and how it's presented. If Katie presents it well then I may watch.
But I'm hoping that the death of Stever Irwin overshadows her broadcast.
Turned it off after the "freeSpeech" thing. Sticking with Brian Williams.

I think I would have been more interested if she had reported that she was secretly married to Shrillary Clinton; despite the horrific images associated with, it would have been much more appealing watching their fat ankles bounce off each other in an endless stream of gelatin like goodness.

Ah, but see Connie Chung and Barbara Walters were co-anchors to major news programs. Katie Couric is the sole anchor for a network's major news program. People see this as a big stepping stone for the equality of women, blah blah blah skippity blah.
I'm pretty sure that ms chung hosted a news show called "i'm a pretentions jackass with Connie chung" for several years. Maybe it wasn't on a non cable network. I just remember it because I think she is an idiot and i kept wishing that someone would call her a carpetbaging son of a ***** and get it over with, but no one ever did.

Thanks for your application but the Asylum has reached mooglefUcker critical mass, and just doesn't need any more. Plus, if past experience teaches us anything, and according to Dr Phil it's the best predictor of future behaviour, it's that those who would announce their intention to post here are more suited to the sandbox. I do not watch the news, I have the internet. No reason to waste 30 mins to find out what I can read in 5 mins, especially with the annoying teasers they always give to make you stay to the end for something that never was quite as interesting as they claimed in the teasers.

Not just that, she went from reporting fall fashions, summer recipes and why wearing yellow may attract terrorists to actual news...it would be like that intolerable fat *** Al Roker or whatever his name is going to the Weather Channel or Matt Lower starring in a Tom Cruise movie.
